I am currently testing out wide-angled shooting for some lift videos, so pardon if it is a bit shaky and weird.
Remember a few videos ago where I did a revisit to these sets of EM Services Elevators at Block 28 Hoy Fatt Road before it was expected to be due for a complete modernization by ULift?
Well, Lift B underwent its modernization in September 2024 and was completed in October 2024. So, I decided to refilm the same elevator again in January 2025 (3 months after the modenization) since I was around the area for an appointment.
What was updated in this lift since the modernization (which lasted 1 month):
1. As seen in the beginning of the video, the lifts will enter Power Saving Mode, where all the lights will turn off, if there is no call response within a certain period of time in order to save energy.
2. The lifts now includes a door buzzer, which is not heard when built by EM Services at all.
3. The lifts also got brand new announcements that are similar to the newer ULift ones.
Also note that the levelling on this ULift Modernization is pretty fast (although not intelligent levelling), but it is definitely way faster than the newer ULift Elevators built. The controller also most likely got replaced to act like a ULift, rather than EM Services.
I was pretty surprised with that, I thought ULift was going to make the levelling horrible but apparently they didn't!
Overall, I think this modernization was not too bad.
If you want to see this particular EM Service Elevator before it received its ULift Mod, you can watch this video:
