Something that has been seeing some talk about lately is Yubel. I don't know much about it myself outside of it can run a small unchained engine and it gets to abuse super poly like no other deck can, but from what I've heard about it, it has been topping some regionals iirc so it could be something to look into for future tier lists, especially considering its getting more support in the next set.

FYI, HERO doesn't lose to nib as hard as you they do. You can chain DPE to nib so it comes back next turn. There is also Favorite contact where you can summon SNW for interruptions in the form of pops on opponent turn. Also, if they nib too early, you can absorb nib with Plasma. There are combos to play around droll. For going 2nd, HEROs can OTK.

@@jessekottonygo Have you ever played HERO? IMO the deck is not that bad, it's just has a terrible reputation and win-rate because the vast majority of its players are casual/semi-competitive players to the point a competitive player won't even bother trying it. Depending on the hand, it can play just like Snake-Eye under Droll, the extended core is at 28 cards (running 2nd Poly, 2nd Increase, both can go to 1) and it utilizes droplet amazingly well, while still taking advantage of both Books (Moon/Eclipse) that are pseudo-CBTG versus most handtraps. Also destruction removal is much weaker compared to banishing and SEFK only have SP for that, while every interaction apart from Kirin and Whale (gy eff) target but HERO can play around. While i wouldn't place it higher, its weaknesses are actually other rogue decks that can ruin your early rounds. For example Super Poly became a huge pain again since Linkuriboh is everywhere and takes care of Dark Angel, or that 1 Dragon Link player in the tournament (Bystials). If the meta was 100% SE/FK then HERO could see play because they actually have a pretty good matchup, since they are build to play second and the turn 1 floodgate focus is a necessity because going first is really that strong.

Was gonna say some similar things, but HEROS is actually quite strong, its just a hard deck to pilot. The only real issue I have had playing HEROs over the years, is it has a slight consistency issue compared to meta decks. I can’t remember the last time I have lost going first and setting up the full combo. Only way is basically super poly which is really good vs HEROs tho. Droll is really the main bane of HEROs but sometimes you can still play decently into it.

I really like the improved editing quality on this and most recent videos, it's always cool to follow your updates! For this meta, since I'm at local level I'm playing with Runick variants, in particular Generaider. Laevateinn is a really cool disruption and can catch people off guard, and I'm trying Mutamorphosis, that + Runick spell that summons Sleipnir is basically Boss Stage. It's not always consistent, but I love how the themes merge mechanically and lore-wise, and Quick Play Spells are funny to use. I wish I could play Voiceless, maybe in the future!

Great timing for this video. For videos like this, time stamped sections would be very helpful. For example, I want to skip goblin biker section, but without timestamps for when certain deck discussions start, I don’t want to skip too far ahead or else I’ll risk missing the opening thoughts you have about a deck I’m interested in. Depending on how much money/time/effort the subtitling requires, I think you can cut them since the KZbin provided CC should be enough for people who prefer that, but that’s just my opinion.

Thanks for a lot of awesome information Jesse! I would only like to share my opinion on pure Snake-eyes, I really think you're underestimating it and results of tournaments show it. It had just tiny bit less representation in the top cut recently and it went to the finals in Las Vegas, and who knows, maybe it could have gotten the title if not "goddamn"... oops.. although that's debatable. Of course you're much better at the game than me, but just by pure observation and the obvious consistency advantage I think it's more of a preference which to play. Also, if you break the pure board, the advantage you often get during opponents turn makes up for it more than enough.

I like many, am curious to hear your opinion on Yubel? I know the deck won't be 'complete' until Legecy of Destruction, but it's doing pretty well right now without it's support from that. Also D/D's (as some who's played the deck casually basically since they came out). I think the Yubel support in LoD can also help D/D's a lot. The field spell basically letting you play 6 copies of Kepler while still leaving Gate open, and Squirmer is a great extender for the deck letting you summon out Kepler or Copernicus without normaling them. I'm having a bit of trouble combing them (D/D Yubel) into 1 deck and I don't think it's possible which makes me sad, but I'm curious if you think they could be.

Nice that now kash is considered a good deck but when i said it, none trusted me lol So i went top 64 at YCS Bologna, it's my best result as a Yugioh player and i'm proud that i achieved it with a metacall that was totally mine... Just random talking, nice video as always Jesse

Easily a list that I can agree with. My locals are very competitive with lots of players who have made either top cut at regionals, won regionals, topped at worlds or won worlds. I can't wait to start playing there again and the deck I chose was floow and the guys at my locals say it's a very very solid option. Horus is by far the most underrated deck. Its actually extremely consistent especially with the new field spell not only adding more ways to get king's sarc to hand but it basically opens up the the searcher cards that search field spells *cough* cattycorn *cough*. Not to mention it can summon on your opponents turn with canopic protector, makes things really dangerous for your opponent if they try to remove something, and it can play really well under summon limit because it can summon on both players turns and all its cards are pretty big. Also it can otk under nib 4 summons gives leathal in less than 5 summons even through some monsters.

While I agree that voiceless isn’t nearly as powerful as snake eye and snake eye fire king, I do think the statement of less non engine isn’t entirely accurate. While I’ve seen the fire deck lists with 16-17 hand traps, voiceless can also use anywhere from 12-16 depending on the build. Unless non engine is referring to literally everything outside of the main one or two archetypes in deck because then the numbers can get quite wonky. All that being said I do think voiceless is definitely on the same level as kash and rescue ace though as voiceless has a solid matchup against both. Barrier provides amazing protection from rescue ace cards. Kash also doesn’t do as well against voiceless since there’s not really an extra deck to pick apart. Granted I personally haven’t had as much testing and play against kash so I could be off the mark on that one. Again voiceless is by no means the top deck or right next to the main fire decks, but I’m pretty sure it’s still going to take up the biggest chunk of YCS top cuts not held by a fire deck.

I think Purrely is underestimated in the current meta. Against both Fire decks and VV, all you need to do is bait out 1 interaction (I:P into S:P for fire decks, Skull Guardian for VV) to stick the field spell, and counter 1-2 pieces of the board (Apollousa/Arvata for fire decks, Barrier for VV, Linkuriboh for both) and you just kill with Happiness. I beat 2 FKSE opponents & 1 Goblin Biker opponent with Purrely in the 3v3 side event in Vegas to win an uncut sheet, only taking a single match loss to losing the die roll to Mannadium and not opening Droll.

I cannot believe Voiceless players are playing with Prosperity/Nadir/Winda packages over branded fusion, it serves as a breaker and consistency tool for Voiceless, I've been playing/testing this deck for months now and 3 branded fusion/1 Albaz is so much more powerful into the meta then Nadir/prosperity for this deck. If you draw diviner send Trias, if you can ritual summon from hand already send lo, if you have Lo+Skull guardian send Saffira. the extra deck package consists of 2 Mirrorjade 2 Albion and 1 Lubellion. Plus I'm still fitting 12 hand traps along with 3 preprep in a 40 card list. Don't play the Jowgen lock version either it's just bad; anyways keep up the content Jesse! it's been great lately!

With Salad you can otk while being fire locked with Erlie, proxy F going into chimera (about 8k though monsters). With that you can finish games even through boards, without removing everything

Ive been having sm fun with my salad list. Im able to end on both traps, maybe an imperm/cosmic cyclone, gazelle in hand, multiple handtraps, promethean in grave for a pop and sometimes s:p. Im glad we dont have a lvl 1 to abuse cause if I had run the wanted stuff I’d just die.

I think you kinda underestimate voiceless voice. Yes its clearly worse then fire, but so is every other deck on the list. It also has a lot of great match ups because of the targeting protection. There are a lot of hands that are just completely immune to any handtrap, and board breakers are also relatively week into i because of the ritual spell in grave. Its ability to treat the extra deck as a toolbox is also great, especialy dyna mondo being able to shuffle soething back on summon helps your grind game a lot. Your follow up is often on par with the fire decks, as barrier can search every turn. Yes the disruption is not the greatest but if you can get your opponent to only get half a field, thats mostly enough to still win as your field is usually very hard to break

I believe that Dinomorphia can punch well in this meta: 1. It plays around Nibiru because the deck summons around three to four times in a turn as much 2. Most of the time, you end up using your fusion traps along with Intact (monster negate counter trap) to protect them from Ash 3. Veiler is dead because this deck summons in the opponent's turn 4. Droll is mostly dead because this deck barely draw/add cards to the hand 5. Like Veiler, Impermanence tends to be dead at the hand in most cases. It can be useful once set, but it might be too late to negate something once you have your turn back 6. The best deck (Fire King/Snake-Eyes) depends on link monsters to finish your opponent. Rexterm can have everything negated and make the link monsters attack points low if they try to attack. Link monsters can't switch to defense position... 7. It can play some handtraps and powerful board breakers like Ferret Flames

​@jensmeyer4542 , formats change with new dominant decks. Most of the time, when a dominant deck (Tier 0) comes by, many players side deck for that. That's the best opportunity to think differently and bring up something that can surprise most of those unprepared players. That happens when you bring a deck that can maneuver through cards that are not meant for that out-of-the-box deck. If you see that list from Jesse, Dinomorphia can handle handtrap cards pretty well and can punch link monster based decks. Few players will side deck board breaker cards because they're mostly ineffective against Snake-Eyes. So, analyze the format first before discarding a deck just because it was ineffective in a previous one.

It’s meh still. That’s why it isn’t having much representation in high level events. Your luck with the dice roll plays too big a factor and with how much hand trap is in the meta makes it that much harder for the deck. Only thing deck has going for it is coming up unknown to players and if opponent knows nothing of deck.

I have a very nice build of unchained that forgoes the tour guide and d/d/d main deck packages for the adventure engine, and while it’s not oppressively strong, I am still going toe to toe with pure snake eyes and voiceless online and at locals. I actually feel like Runick Generaider is well positioned against Fire Decks. Going first, youre pretty much going to win every time unless you have a bad hand and they hand trap the right thing. Going 2nd is often quite doable with how insane Lavetain is, and Flashing Fire to turn off their IP feels really good. I actually feel more comfortable going up against Fire decks than i do Shifter decks at my locals
