Yes, I agree. I guess I am one of the few people who liked the "fisherman" Islanders' logo when it first appeared many years ago, but I wasn't crazy about the rest of the original jersey. I do like this Bridgport Islanders jersey though, but only as a secondary NY Islanders jersey.

Fun Fact Stan Fischler was the beat writer when the Islanders originally had the Fisherman logo . Islander fans joked the logo looked like him other hockey fans joked he lookks like the Gordens Fisherman logo it a seafood chain sold in stores

Lifelong Islander fan that never HATED the fisherman but wanted the old logo back .. I love it for a 3rd … like you said. Embrace it , players seem to like it too. The white should be next years 3rd for the team

It's a nice Jersey for sure. I wish Bridgeport wasn't such a dump. The Family Guy joke is very accurate to what Bridgeport is. I'd rather go see a Sacred Heart game as it's a brand-new arena and in a quiet neighborhood. Quinnipiac is a nice place to go see a game because the team is one of the top College hockey teams in the United States.

While I do like the jerseys, I do not like the fact that they are now called the Islanders. Why can't AHL teams have their own identity and colour schemes? The Sound Tigers was a unique and fantastic name. Why do AHL teams need to be the Wish version of their parent clubs?

As a marketing enthusiast, the team should have stayed the Sound Tigers… but saying that since they are the islanders now, that fisherman logo should be Bridgeport’s primary logo. Their current primary logo is disgusting.
