Lovely US stamps. I'm working on my US collection at the moment - many of those were new to me! The pair of overland mail stamps at the end of the video were very nice. Perhaps you will share with us some of your albums in future videos. Always interesting to see how each person displays their stamps, what they focus on. Enjoy!

Interesting lot of stamps you bought, Terry, with an excellent amount of Cuba stamps. Sad that most of them are CTOs. I especially liked the animal (incl. birds!) stamps from Cuba. The USA stamps are beautiful as well, and a nice mix of Mexico stamps. This was a nice buy! Thanks for sharing!

I totally agree. I guess we just have to accept that there are a lot of CTOs out there. Yes it was a nice mix. Thanks for watching and commenting.

The last episode about the big box part 3 you shared a red stamp of the king and said there were holes - that one I noticed is called perfin whichbis a mrthod used to cancel stamps by putting some letters with the holes when you check back again you will notice. Some perfin stamps has more worth than the normal cancelled ones

The Hong Kong '97 on the Cuban stamps is referring to the stamp exhibit held there. It is a tad confusing to have two stamp issuing authorities printed on it.

Thank you, confusing yes. However, that is part of the fun of collecting stamps. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Too bad there were so many Cuban CTOs but not surprising as that was a way of generating well needed money. I once bought a lot of Russian stamps from a dealer on line many years ago and the dealer claimed that they were "used' as they had no gum but a few months later when I got around to them and on close inspection I confirmed that they were in fact CTOs. I later bought these same stamps in mint never hinged from an other dealer. As a general rule I use the CTOs as fillers until I can find the MNH ones then set the CTOs aside in stock pages. Might dispose of them at some point or donate them to some kids. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to see what is in the album.

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. That is a great idea. I don't mind them because they are still stamps. 👍

i thought that ALL CTO's have to have a postmark on them. Those don't...what's the story.?
@todayssnailmail460310 ай бұрын
I don't think I said they were all CTO's (I believe I said a lot of them are)But you are right (as far as I know) they are canceled but not posted stamps. Thanks for watching.

Is it my eyes or did the Mexican issues NOT have any cancellation marks on them? If am correct they all looked mint to me - a CTO must have a pre-printed cancellation mark on it like the ones in the Cuban pack and usually they are still gummed. Some countries (eg Equatorial Guinea, Fujeira etc) issue some stamps in excess sometimes and these tend not to be listed or catalogued, although I'm not aware of Mexico being one of these countries. Those Mexican stamps are a great selection - also loved the architecture monotone ones. An awesome vid! Thanks!😊

You are right, I just watched that video again, they do not have postmarks on them. How did I miss that, they had the feel of CTOs, so I guess I just took for granted they were. Thank you for catching that. This makes me very happy. Thank you for your very helpful comment and watching.

@@todayssnailmail4603 I think I know what you mean.. Perhaps they use the same printers and hence paper as well? I think with CTOs, I don't mind them so much if the artwork or subject nature is appealing to me. Usually means it's more likely to get a complete set/series. And if it's a topical theme that the collector is into, any surplus can just be used as cinderellas/labels for postcrossing etc.. For example I'm into space, so I wouldn't mind slapping a space CTO on a postcard.. Basically great for stamp art.. But then I do wonder if they may end up becoming sought after simply because collectors didn't find them worth collecting.. 🤦🏿♂️🤣🤣🤣

Welcome to the hobby of stamp collecting. I think the biggest reason that people don't like them is because the have been cancelled, but have not actually been posted. They don't really bother me, after all it is a stamp. And some of the prettiest stamps are CTOs, I put them in my collection. Yes some countries have more than others. Good luck with this fascinating hobby. Thanks for watching and commenting.
