Correction. Postcolonialism, in no way, means after colonialism. The term carries ambiguity you should explain it. And how on earth could you place Mohsin Hamid and Kamila Shamsie next to Achebe? Your understanding of the subaltern is also flawed.

You're confusing your mind beta. What does the meaning of post? If you breakdown the term into three parts what do you get? Post Colonial ism... And separately what is the meaning of each word? By combining them, what do you approach? How many ages are there? What is the definition of Postcolonialism according to Blacks?

I also don't rely on single source.. You should also consult the books ; Post-Colonial Studies: The Key Concepts by Bill Ashcroft,. Gareth Griffiths & Helen Tiffin... Decolonising the Mind by Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o...The location of culture by Homi K. Bhabha Ngũgĩ is not white... Bhabha is not white too... Well if you have authentic source/book. Mention the name I will consult that too. 😊

@@englishliteraturerb I am sorry but even your understanding of colonialism is flawed. The political aspect, though an important one, is not the only aspect of colonialism it has rather many different facets. Your focus is rather on the political aspect. Btw, you cannot come up with a valid conclusion just by dissecting the word into post and colonial. Scholars have had a hard time agreeing on the use and meaning of the term. The term post-colonial and not postcolonial should be used even if you mean it after colonialism. Moreover, your understanding of mimicry is also flawed. Mimicry does not only mean mimicking or mocking, it is rather a complex term or a complex phenomenon. Last but not the least, you have just talked about the ambivalent nature of the consolized and not of the colonizers.
