This gave me sum backstory vibes so here wE GO! Uzu was the kind of lonely girl at her school, she liked all those dark stuff everyone find disgusting or disturbing. One day she crossed upon a forbidden website, this website was about a cult built around magical masks. She signed a suspicious contract to make her a part of this cult and then, when she passes away she will gain a mask in her ghostly form. Wearing a mask as a ghost can provide you with a body to keep living in the human world as a tormentor. A real life monster. As she passes away in a fire (This is from the tiny incenses and the figurine, where the figurine falls and the incenses are no longer lit. The incenses caused the fire) she gains the mask of a woman. She gained more power from the people she torments and gains various mask, until she finally wins the demon's mask, the ultimate form all the cultists worshipped. I hope you like my headcanon/theory! I loved this animation and I'm looking forward to animate my own version!
