(The algorithm brought me here) As a BYU fan I want to commend the Buffs for the way they handled themselves all week. From their coaching staff to their players I was real impressed. BYU was bigger, faster and stronger. The better athletes were wearing white. BYU just bullied Colorado in the game. Coach Hill is one of the best defensive minds in college football. He had a month to game-plan against Colorado, and it showed.

After the game they said they threw 17 different looks at Shedeur in the first half alone and only repeated three of them. Takes a lot to confuse him. Tip your hat. Disagree with the first part of your statement overall but in the trenches I agree. They were absolutely the better coached team tonight as well. No one can argue that.

@@RealMatSmith honestly, with the exception of Sanders and Hunter, there was not one Buff I would swap for what BYU started. BYU fan here. Colorado is for sure a better team than they showed tonight. BYU is also for sure the better team overall, much more well rounded, but not as much superstar power. Excited to be in the BIG12 with Colorado and expect to have many great games vs the buffs in the future. If you’re able to hold on to Deion and get a new RB and some o linemen who specialize in run blocking I think Colorado can be a tough opponent for many years to come. Love coach prime and excited for the attention and eyes he brings to the league. Good luck going forward buffs. Go Cougs.

BYU coaches clearly had a game plan to exploit the known weaknesses. CU Portal losses (yeah, just one All Big12 LB but his back us was essentially third/fouth string start of year) and injuries (patchwork at OL) magnified their well known weaknesses. That just reminds us that it takes more than a two years to build a well rounded and talent deep team.

Not a fan of either team but a NY Giants football & pro fan, mainly. Buffs have made me a lot of $$$ the last two years, betting for and against. That first game (ND) told me alot about them and they showed who they were throughout the season. They were always a decent team but their record was always deceiving and their national coverage gave them more validity than all teams at their level. Games like this and that Nebraska showed how to beat them convincingly. They didn’t all of a sudden fall apart, they’ve been like this all year in all 3 phases & we’re always vulnerable when they faced a well coached and talented team. BYU had the schematic and the players to do what Nebraska did. That said, it was year 2. The program is moving in a better direction than pre-Prime. You won’t have the dynamic player personalities of the last two years but the culture implemented is strong. Last thing: your OC is not the long term answer- he was washed up in the NFL for a reason, we in NY know this.

That field goal kick was terrible for a D1 Bowl program. It’s a good thing it wasn’t on the line. That kicker would never recover.
@DreLBrown5293 күн бұрын
This is not on the players. This is squarely on Deion and his coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball. They were so hell bent on passing the ball that Deion did not prepare his team at all for BYU pass defense that they had prepared because they knew Colorado was a one dimensional team who wasn’t a threat to run the ball. Good defensive teams like BYU, Nebraska and Kansas all exploited that, and all three of those teams beat the DOG SH💩T out of Colorado. BYU passed zoned defended Colorado with damn near all their players and dared Colorado to run. Shedeur couldn’t do anything with that passing zone they had out there, finding an open man was damn near a miracle. This was a piss poor coaching job for Deion and the rest of he’s coaching on the offensive side of the ball because they should have known that BYU was going to lock down on the passing game and force Colorado to do something that’s not in their DNA, and that’s run the ball. As far as I’m concerned, Deion never really made any efforts all season to improve the run; and it once again it bit him where the sun don’t shine. Maybe now that Shedeur is leaving for the NFL, he will now put more emphasis on the run game.
@HartofSports2 күн бұрын
You 💯 percent right but all I hear is run game next year. And my question is why the hell would they do it next year when they didn’t want to do it this year. I expect the same exact thing. A few more runs sprinkled in but nothing major.
@DreLBrown5292 күн бұрын
@ I actually believe that it had everything to do with Shedeur why Deion never made the running game an integral part of the offense. This is why I’m so glad Shedeur is out of here headed to the NFL; and why I believe next year we will actually see a vastly different offense that will emphasize heavily on both the run and passing game. Deion pretty much sacrificed the run game for his son the last two season at Colorado. And I don’t fault Shedeur for that. I squarely put the blame on Deion for how this season ended in such blowout fashion. So again, this is why I believe next season without his son Shedeur will be much more of an offensive balance attack of a run, pass offense which will get them to the promise land.

Deion better be flying southwest with his team after that performance. Great year yes. But he did not have his team ready to play. And BYU coach put on a clinic. Onside kick, end of half clock management. Call your timeouts to make BYU think about the long kick! Gave the guy a 54 yarder with no consequences/time left if he misses. Also we sure Pat Shurmer is the guy going forward?? That was pathetic.

@FBGotti2 күн бұрын
Offensive gameplan was shit, whole line needs to be revamped again seaton held his own but he folded at the end shedeur didn't even wanna play anymore. BYU didn't do anything special we got turnovers on them and we didn't produce any points. I love Mata but we need a real kicker with leg power BYU's kicker literally drilled a couple 50 yarders with no sweat I knew then even if we got them to settle for field goals game was technically over at that point. We need white boys at linebacker or some samoans that lvoe the culture because we are bums Had high hopes for this team and I'm not happy as a fan or a football fan because the standard and the potential all season even in blowout wins it wasn't because we played great other teams just sucked and we did the right thing at the right time to win
@timcecil45792 күн бұрын
I called out CU stats 4 games into the season about the absolute lack of a running game and people got offended. You don’t just get a running game without true D1 offensive lineman. Seaton has size but was exposed because freshmen can’t pass block at this level. Colorado lacks discipline and penalties contribute to their problems as well. They got walked last night and with that crop of receivers next year could be very ugly.
@squibkick2 күн бұрын
This game was decided weeks ago. People must admit that the CU OC is a fraud and awful at calling a planning game; it concerns me that Coach Prime continues to praise them, Shurmur. I understand he caters to Shedeur and Coach Prime's only interest in passing. Shedeur did not improve on getting the ball out of his hands, which hurt the team every week, and for good reason, CU cannot recruit intelligent offensive linemen who can actually play. You cannot win without a run game, you cannot win without blocking, and you cannot win by calling the game plan week after week with players only interested in stats. J5 has no business entering the NFL draft, and he is delusional if he thinks he has proved anything. You cannot win with a revolving coaches door at key positions. I am sure, however, that Coach Prime understands this dynamic and is working to correct it.

No he got demoted because he didn’t adjust and couldn’t figure it out after he got solved. Didn’t have a great relationship with Shedeur either. He had no script.
