All the kids have gone pirate mad in Greendale. Julian is very excited when Pat’s American cousin, Matt, visits Greendale on a boating holiday as he looks just like a pirate with his stripy shirt, big boots and cat called Polly. All of Greendale is preparing for the annual Greendale Flower Festival although there is much sadness that the Greendale Cup has been missing for years. Matt admits that he hid the cup when he was a little boy. He produces a tatty old map and invites Pat, Julian and Meera to come on a treasure hunt with him. They sail to the island in the middle of the lake and after some difficulty manage to find the right spot and dig for treasure. They find the cup and return to Greendale just in time for the Flower Festival. The whole village is thrilled to see the cup again and happily accept Matt’s apology for having played such a prank in the first place.
Each story features Postman Pat and his black and white cat Jess and their adventures in the village of Greendale. Pat is more than just a friendly postman delivering the mail, he is always ready to lend a willing hand to all the people he meets on his rounds.
