This was a phenomenal video. I had no idea so many things played a role in limb heaviness. I appreciate the explanation to help me understand what is really happening, and things I can do to make the situation better. And I am so thankful that you make these videos to help us stroke, survivors, and their families. In our journey

Thank you for the kind words, Heather! I’m really glad it was eye opening. It’s crazy how even our sensory system can play a role in heaviness. And that it’s not simply muscle weakness, but the disrupted communication between brain and body. I hope others find this helpful, too. Thank you, as always, for your amazing support of our mission❤️

Thank You for that wonderful explanation I think many viewers will be a lot more relaxed with those answer's! I've almost gotten my arm and hand back to normal and I'm feeling all of these symptoms but at least I'm feeling them now which before I didn't so I'm thankful to God for that opportunity. I think being positive makes this road to recovery a lot easier to walk through as well...

It depends on so many factors. It may be due to where in the brain your stroke happened, the severity of the stroke, etc. there are a lot of individual things to consider as strokes impact people very differently!

I love your videos. What would be your best videos to do to strengthen my deltoid muscles. I had a stroke in October 2022 and I have muscle soreness in the front part of my left upper arm.

All types of therapy have their place, but this is why I feel OT is just the best. I'll be starting an OTA program in the fall, because I just think it's really cool. While I'm not sure how accurate I feel it is, I recently heard it described like this: "PT will get you walking, but OT will get you walking with pants on." I've had some really good physical therapists in my recovery, but I especially love OT. My favorite part about it is assistive technology. It helps me be as independent as I can be. Often, it's kitchen gadgets to compensate for poor motor control, but not always. It's become a hobby of mine to find new ways to adapt my actions or my surroundings in daily life.

Had a stroke December 27th, 2023. Affected my right side, was in the hospital for over two months... As of writing this, I can walk and I can use my right hand I can easily move my fingers I can easily move my toes but the problem that I'm still facing is the numbness because I still have problems feeling with my fingers and the heaviness in the right arm. I also notice that if I stay up too late, my fingers start to get very stiff as well as my arm gets stiff... of course this disappears in the morning when I wake up, i'm just wondering if that stiffness is normal to feel for someone post stroke, if they stay up too late
