I've had my 1948 CJ-2A for about 14 years. I wonder at times where it's been the half century before I got it.

And so a world without war would perhaps be Beetle free and Jeep free? The German jeeps were built on Beetle frames... The irony is both the American and German contributions to war transport would later become cute little leisure mobiles of the future.

VW 'Beetles' did not have 'frames' in the conventional sense. The Kubelwagen was built on a platform chassis, or 'pan', as was the VW 'Beetle'.
