And the opposite ICM situations calling tighter due to payout implications but if you don't know how to estimate your opponents ranges at the baseline you definitely won't know how to adjust :p So yeah learning the equities vs certain ranges is necessarily like in the first range your aqo is a peice of trash but vs the second range it's a powerhouse. k8o vs k5s is intersting def a difference if you're in a domination nation situation as well.

How do you decide what your opponents range is. Obviously we’re not computers and often we don’t have the luxury of studying our opponents’ previous hands off live streams etc. So in most cases we’ll have to estimate. I was just wondering if u have any advice for this
@noThankyou-g5c Жыл бұрын
also how does position factor into play? Im guessing this assumes everybody else folded?
@sevenhecks Жыл бұрын
You have to estimate/build an educated guess based on the hands they play from certain positions, how tight they are, how knowledgeable they are on the game(you can usually infer this by their bet sizing and aggression/use of position), you can never be entirely certain but there are certain ranges of hands that are objectively good to play and as a player gets closer to being the button they will open that range up since they are past to act. They can use the information gained from watching everyone else act to infer how strong their hands are. There's no exact science to it other than obviously you're going to play premium hands and pocket pairs, so those should always be in a person's range. Hope this helps? Feel free to comment back and we can dig deeper into the subject

13.8 BB to call 33.5 BB. Isint that 2.4:1 Pot odds that is 29% . How is it 41%?
@datsumcrzysht3 жыл бұрын
The 33.5 includes the 13.8 you’re about to put in for the call. So it’s the amount to call divided by the total pot after the call. For example let’s assume there’s a game without blinds, and someone goes all in for $10. Now you have you have to call $10 making it $10/$20=1/2=50%…meaning that it’s even money.
@siddharthdutta33603 жыл бұрын
@@datsumcrzysht Thank you, 42% is correct. I miscalculated doing it the other way. There is 2.2 +2.5 BB (1BB+1 ANTE +.5SB) in the pot. Tight player shoves for 13.8BB effective making the pot 18.5 BB. So to get 18.5 BB we need to call 13.8 BB. which is 1.3:1 giving us 42%.

And nowhere in this video (or any other that I've seen) do you explain the "magic" behind the equity calculation, so that one could learn how to derive this figure without a slew of electronics. This is what I find ridiculous about this kind of analysis. It's useless in live poker.
