I first heard these folks opening for Flogging Molly at The House of Blues in Chicago back in 2008. I've loved them ever since and try to go to any nearby shows. They put on one hell of a live performance. Excellent musicians and they're super friendly with the audience. Legitimately one of the best live bands I've ever watched.

That's almost exactly how I reacted when I watched them opening for Flogging Molly back in 2008. Dude walks on stage with a dobro, followed by a woman with a washboard, and a drummer playing a 5-gallon bucket as a floor tom. I was about as skeptical as one could be...then the good reverend started playing and I was in awe. Of course, when he introduced a song by saying, "Who here thinks their momma makes good fried potatoes? You're all wrong, 'cause my momma makes the best damned fried potatoes on the whole damn planet," then went into _Momma's Fried Potatoes,_ I was sold. I even had a chance to speak with him after the show. Great group.
