Beautiful bacterial film grows on every strand of this pot scrubbies. Mine "ooze" a gelatin like bacterial material. Best and least expensive filter material

@@Aww-Geez I’ve been doing a lot of research nonstop for 2 days and I’m afraid to to say that yes, scrubbers are by far better biological filtration than seachem and bio home.

Yes indeed they are one of the best that will put the others to rest not saying that Matrix and biohome don't n't work it's just that pot scrubbers are cheaper Superior I run whole tanks on this stuff yes indeed sponge and pot scrubbies are just simply the best

Yeah if they ever get clogged up you really can't even squeeze them out you just have to switch them around in aquarium water in order not to lose all your bacteria but if they get really clogged up then you have to rinse them out in clean water so you only do a portion at a time

Plastic is antibacterial by nature and yes anything you put in a filter will filter a tank like loose rocks or sponges but designed materials are better to get a FULL cycle ammonia to nitrite, nitrite to nitrate and then nitrate to nitrogen medias such as pumice stone can achieve this where pot scrubbers can not that's why no filter manufacturer uses anything like it

Hmm interesting I have in times past used 2 canister's full of pumice stone no reduction in nitrates at all ammonia yes nitrite yes nitrates no. I have one canister filled with pot scrubbies as I write this ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate about 40 maybe a little less I have live plants the reason manufacturers don't make them is because they can't make no money off of them so they can continue to live in their nice houses in drive their nice cars great comment and I appreciate it but sorry pott scrubbies has been around for way too long it has been proven thousands of times over.

@@aquariumhacksbymarcus5653 Ok for aerobic bacteria it can take 6 to 10 months to form most people clean the filter and tank more often than this and thats why thy dont get a full cycle i have 9 tanks all with pumice and sintered glass media and all bubble of nitrogen in fact i have to feed the annubias plants supplements to get them to grow now if you have 40ppm and have live plants thats to high as live plants will flourish in nitrate rich environment as for scrubbers they are or would be used in a pond filter that has other means such as bog filters and mainly used to filter heavy much and not meant for bacteria but if it works for you carry on

When designing filter media surface area and the ability to capture much comes first but also maximising space sponges are easy
