POTA activation with truSDX on SSB & CW

Except for the popping sound made at the beginning of each Morse character sent, I'm quite happy with the rig, given the price paid for it. More details here:

Hrm, I thought I posted a comment on this last night, but it seems to have just completely disappeared..?? The clicking is caused by the rig quickly switching between TX/RX while you send. You could remove that noise by turning Menu 2.4 "Semi QSK" from "OFF" to "ON". Of course, that means you won't hear RX audio between characters, but I think that's a pretty acceptable tradeoff for not having to hear the annoying clicking/thumping noise haha :) Hope that helps! The one in the video was pre-built but I do have one still in kit form...not sure when I'll get around to building it. I did have to cal the freq - it was off by 70 Hz. It's a simple and quick procedure. Enjoy! 73, John AE5X

No, but I haven't tried. I'm going to update the firmware this weekend and see if that helps.

Sounds like your audio cable is not properly shielded and grounded. Were you able to solve that problem?

Unfortunately, the sound is present even when the rig's internal speaker is being used.

@@AE5X Maybe the speaker wire can be wound in a choke with ferrite core. To cut out interference.

I had the popping noise in mine too, until I turned off the QSK (turned off full break-in) in the menu. 73 de KD8ZM
