Man I adore these older rigs. I remember having a drake 7 line. Then when the yaesu 1000d came out, I couldn’t afford it. I settled for the 990 yaesu. Something about the 80s 90s rigs that I loved. I used to sit in the dark with all the meters lighting up the room. I miss those days. Pre smartphone era.

Thanks, Brian, for the P2P! Always an honor to work you and that fine fist! Well, the band switch selector rod coupler broke inside the Kenwood. Guess it's a known weak component on that particular model. New brass one on the way.
