The title is “Potato 101” and yet it just shows shredding a potato half way. The reason I’m looking up about how to shred or grate is because I want tips on that last bit. The part that is so small you end up grating your hands as you grate the potato or vegetable. I have a food processor but want to try a recipe that recommends using a grater over a food processor. I also want to follow the recipe amount for potatoes and don’t want to be calculating the end pieces that I don’t grate, depending how picky I am for normal non Costco potatoes I could be wasting a third of the potato! Picky as in the second my fingers get into contact with the grater, obviously I can go to 95% but that would be for a one time recipe and not something i will repeat more than one a year because cuz it’s not enjoyable. As a weekly recipe it has to be easy to grate and quick. The last bit is going to double the grating time. A video about grating 101 must include tips on the hard part not showing me a how to make an ice video 😅. If you can’t figure out how to grate the way it’s shown in the video something is wrong with you.

Thank you! All the grating potato videos never go all the way. I've already have so many grazes from getting to close the grater. For me, whenever I get to the end of the potato I always just cut it up into matchsticks, but it's inconsistent with the rest. I wonder if there's a better method out there 🤔
