I have zero experience growing sweet potatoes... but maybe? This was an experiment for me, but I'm pleasantly surprised with the outcome. It was like a dream seeing those potatoes laying on top of the ground this year! No more digging 😁😃

Not much to tell... I never watered, but I did add more hay/straw one time about half way through. I just let nature do her thing!

Looks great. You "planted" them right on top of grass. Why didn't the grass just grow up right through the straw?

A thick layer of straw blocks the light and kills the thin short grass, but potato plants are stronger and can push through the straw to reach the sun. It's nature's gift!

Do you use cleaned straw? I like this method.

Old straw offers better protection from the sun because it settles down more, but new straw works too...as long as you occasionally add more.

It may be easy, but only 15 lb for a bed that size is a bit underwhelming, isnt it?

That was only about a third of the bed in the video...so the full bed was actually closer to 50 pounds total.
