The few Ag channels I really enjoy all say the same thing. "I keep repeating myself." One guy who's about an hour or so south of me was thinking about stopping doing YT. Thankfully the enthusiastic subs like me told him how much we continue to enjoy the content and he felt better about things. Never worry about repeating yourself. Even though I'm new here, I think most would agree, your content is really excellent and very hands on. I've learned more about potato farming in the last month than I've ever known in my whole life. Like many, I'm also a huge fan of watching how the machines function. Every single adult who knew me as a little kid predicted I'd either be a large road builder or a farmer. That was based on my interest in huge machinery. How I ended up as a trader instead still escapes me. I'm absolutely blown away at the quantity of potatoes you guys can harvest in a single day. Lastly, as I've already said, you make things easy to understand and you're very articulate in your delivery. I'm grateful that you and your family made the decision to share this great content. Cheers to you and yours.

We haven’t noticed them stretching probably because there’s a tightener in the middle so if they do stretch the tightener will keep it tight so that’s probably why we haven’t noticed

I'm going to tell you one of my many stories, about what happened to me when I was there, it's related to the band that broke up, one day a co-worker came and told me, well, you act very intelligent, Find out how to put the bands on, since they are very heavy and difficult to put on! -Wait for me a little while, let me think, look! You tell those who weld, to make you Rectangle, with metal, to put 2 fixed tires and another two that move, where it is narrower, to put some triangles, so that they can sit a bar, they put the bar in In the middle of the belt, since it is going to be heavy, they lift it up with the forklift, so they can arrange it where it is going to go and it can be unrolled more easily. The funny thing is that others kept the merits. Greetings and have a good day.

Do you go back through the fields and pick up a few for you and your family that either you missed or just feel through?
@idahofarmer2 ай бұрын
Tehren , I can answer this one so after we get done digging in a certain field or area. Will let anybody from the general public come out and gleen they call it or pick up all of the potatoes that we have just left in the field. It would not make enough sense for us to come back through the field and pick up all the little ones, I don’t know if you’ve heard of that saying step over dollars to pick up pennies but it’s just not worth it for us to go back through the field to pick up all the little ones we lost that’s why we tried to not lose any in the harvesting process
@jamesrabbits74342 ай бұрын
@idahofarmer I didn't figure y'all went back through and got any, but I just wasn't sure if they went back in the ground as fertilizer or if they went to families. Back when I was trucking I hauled some potatoes out of a plant and I got to see and learned a lot.

So the crossover is the other machine in the field it digs up six rows and it puts those six rows on the ground and the harvester comes and picks up those six rows plus the four rows that it’s sitting on top of here’s the first video if you haven’t seen it, where I go into more detail about how it all works. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHSVo3qLiNiLqsksi=ganzs4a9uK4BpjYr

One thing for sure is good service is hard to come by, so when you do find it I like to tell everyone who to go to. Likewise if I get bad service I tell people about that too. I'm fortunate in that I still live in the town I grew up in. I know people, and that's a good thing. When you've known someone since childhood, you'll often get service they wouldn't do for anyone else. My problem now is everyone I grew up with are retiring, like me. Back to the farm, I believe I could watch the earth 🌎 devouring machine all day long. Unlike you, I don't have to be an octopus, using all my senses, and having to have my head on a swivel constantly. Bet you're tired by the end of the day!

Well, we like to go as fast as we can to try and get harvest done as soon as we can because it cost $20,000 a day to run and the reason we don’t dig 16 rows because it’s faster for us to just follow the crossover down and back because if we didn’t, we would have to stop and wait making harvest take longer we know a few farmers around who have two crossovers and dig 14 rows, and we can cover more ground in a day than they can
