This is such a nice creative thing to do, with materials that you probably already have in your home (you could probably do this with a carrot aswell)!
It's a gift from us, to you, to get you through your christmas holidays if you need a break or want to do something fun together! Also if you've been stressed out by all the bad news that is going around: this will get your mind of the negative thoughts for a little while!
Materials needed:
couple old potatoes
a bit of paper
paint (whatever you have in your home, gouache or acrylics are nice)
brushes
bowl of water and an old (paper) towel
At 09:55 we start the potato printing! I myself find it very interesting to see how Julia makes a test page for colors, but if you just want to get started you can jump to the start here.
I thought I'd just do a nice and simple potato printing session with Julia Kuentzel and Isabella Marquart (both artschool students from Hamburg) and unexpectedly, I've learned all kind of new things about:
color (Julia her superpower even though she doesn't want to admit it)
shapes and composition
texture and letting the potato speak
creating a small world with a couple basic shapes
learning to trust the process and being inspired by the process

And the buymeacoffee link which will pay a little bit for Julia her travel to Groningen! When you buy a coffee you can put a note in it, that it may go to Julia: buymeacoffee.c...
