While not my favorite top 1, I do think Acheron is pretty good. Its gameplay is actually pretty interesting, having much more variation and originality than something like Slaughterhouse. That being said, I do think levels like Bloodlust, Zodiac, Bloodbath, Yatagarasu, and Artificial Ascent had more gameplay variation and originality than Acheron, so I like them better as top 1s. Acheron definitely has more fear factor than most of them though, with maybe the exception of Bloodlust. Then again, it's really hard to outdo Bloodlust when it comes to making good top 1s. I definitely agree with you that it has style points though. One of the best top 1s to vibe to for sure.

I do like it when top 1s have varied gameplay for sure, as long as the level still stands out. Bloodlust was great because of how over-the-top it was, which made it stand out. While I do love Zodiac, in my opinion it didn’t stand out to me as a “top 1”. I am also biased towards levels with a generally consistent theme, but that’s just a personal opinion.

Zodiac does have intensity. It’s just presented as a slower build up throughout the entire level, as it’s 3 minutes long, so in the beginning it’s not very intense but once you’re getting far at around Pennutoh you bet those nerves will get to you. Also I am a fan of “approachable” top 1s so I am biased in that direction lol

Yeah I very much agree that Zodiac would be very intense and intimidating to play. Most likely, if I played the game more, I would like approachable top 1s as well, but as of right now I’m biased towards impossible-looking and cool-looking top 1s (if that makes any sense lol)

Honestly I love the unique decoration Acheron provides rather then your average, over used “hell” themed levels *no offence to slaughterhouse* + the gameplay it presents actually looks kinda fun for a top 1, i mean don’t get me wrong I’m sure it’ll be a nightmare to play but rather then being just made for difficulty it actually includes well synced gameplay, the perfect top 1 imo

Ik the main point of this video was acheron but i noticed you mentioned zodiac. You didnt say it was a bad top 1 but you didnt like how it was approachable. The thing i respect about the level now that ive beaten it is how much of a mental challenge it is. Doing runs like 61-100 etc doesnt always take long but the mental torture of spending like 1 minute every attempt just to die immediately in 38-44 makes it hell. I have to respect how it tricks your mind so much.

Clubstep is the original, and then Tartarus is kind of like Clubstep if it was like, dipped in hell I guess? It’s all orange and it looks like it’s on fire. And then Acheron is the result of that, with the greys and blacks being the ash and the red being the remaining embers. And also there’s a ton of Clubstep monsters throughout Acheron that look like they’re in ruins.

I honestly don't know if this is a joke or not but if it isn't, here are my reasons why I don't like this level: 1. The gameplay is absolute dogshit, zoink buffed it for the only reason for it to be top 1 and now it's just unfun with random fixed hitboxes and stuff 2. Deco boring imo 3. pretty dumb song choise, I personally think it's too repetitive but you obviously can't find a perfect song. (this is just my personal opinion, you can like the level but don't send hate to me for no reason)
