I've played around with this mod a bit myself. The stuck in place is an issue but....if you keep one shout, the unrelenting force shout to use just for that occasion it usually works. But make sure you don't resurrect an NPC near a cliff so they don't fall and die. Though like that cultist you resurrected downhill you can push him back up the hill. That's about the only remedy I found for npc's getting stuck in place. Although it doesn't really fit a necromancer build you can always edit out those few seconds.

I think this is a truly unique experience, Necromancers in the basegame are interesting yet is something I believe could have been elaborated more on. These mods and questline are a cool way to truly get a feel for the Necromancer and its abilities and inabilities. Instead of killing a necromancer, taking its robes and using a spell with an iron dagger. Keep this coming!

Technically it wasn't illegal even when the mages guild was around. In cyrodil the mages guild had a monopoly on magic and banned it. In morrowind, people from the mages guild told how it was an accepted practice in cyrodil. So sometime between morrowind and oblivion, the policy must have changed.

well usually when u get trapped in a soul gem I think you go from soul gem to soul cairn. so once the soul had been used up it goes to the soul cairn.

Not all souls go to the Soul Cairn. Only the ones traded to the Ideal Masters. The idea all spent souls go there was a theory of Valerica's and very wrong.

It's not exactly canonical but it's more intuitive than what actually happens when you're soul trapped and is fun so who cares.

My latest playthrough is as a battlemage who dabbles in conjuration and necromancy. While He can't be bothered to soul trap every enemy He has an empty soul gem for, He makes a point to fill the black soul gems He comes across with tough enemies and enchant his gear with them. Most recently that includes Fjola, the bandit chief of Mistwatch, whom ended up being used to enchant Her own wedding band.

Few years late, but with Aurora Standing Stones mod, the ritual stone ressurects all dead bodies around you. You can res an entire drauger brigade or a whole army od dead soldiers

It adds a number of necromancy abilitys, including the ability to store and summon corpses, whenever and wherever, lets you create undead, like ghosts, dragur, or deathhounds, reanimate giants and mammoths, and even trade black souls to ressurrect a npc. (Eventually, once you gain power and experience as a necromancer)
