@@jamster5322 It goes along the lines of most of Potato's videos, especially when he begins building Dam districts, he almost ALWAYS gets hit with a massive flood just before he completes the district.

that was one of the worst weather disasters i've ever seen happen. I once had some tornadoes just rip the core of my empire to shreds. But the bad timing just couldn't match the Potato McWhiskey Blizzard of 820.

I think i ahd one that was even worst than that. I was still in the ancient era and went for an early kill on macedonia. I was abbout to assault his capital with like 4 wariors and 7 archers when he had basically no military, so easy win. Except, and I am not kidding, the game spawn TWO FUCKING BLIZZARDS back to back on my army, wipping it out in one go. I rage quite.

Streamers have been able to win in the most hopeless ways possible so far. One (RA) managed to win when surrounded his capitol with 2 rows of volcanos. A few have managed to win when starting on a only snow tile seperated with sea to the mainland. And one managed to win when starting two ages behind the deity AI. I struggle how random player maps can make it worse.

I think the biggest thing is too limit the exploits that can be used. Most streamers beat these challenges using some broken shenanigans

9:15 I really hope that in civ 7 there is a way with the trading system for a city to actually "feed" your empire. Like atm there is no way for cities to generate a surplus of food and then send that somewhere else, which is in contrast to what happened historically, with large urban centers being supplied with food and natural resources from smaller cities/towns. The closest way to do that atm is by having equally large cities (# of districts) which give okay trade routes for food/production.

It's funny, because you can kind of do the opposite of that. Districts give extra food and production to domestic trade routes, but only give the yields to the place the trader is sent from. So you can have this gargantuan city with tons of districts give _other_ cities great yields from trades, but anything you send from the city itself is way worse.

i was cheering for disaster but that blizard made me cringe. I played teddy game where i did only preserves and natural parks and i got absoultely detroyed by a never ending wildfire that just bounced back and forth and killed every worker i tried to chop forest to stop it

Hey potato idk if anyone else agrees with me but I really prefer watching you play when your start is at least decent. Personally when I play civ I will restart until I get a roll I like. I just don’t find the uphill battle very fun because the early to mid game is the funnest part!! It seems like other people don’t mind. Give the people what they want. Potato, I think you are actually enjoying this game. I can hear unused neurons and synapses firing from here. As a Canuck, I can confirm that we are polite, but if pushed, we push back hard. As far as I can tell, hockey is the only team sport I know of where fighting in the game is legal. You do get a five minute penalty, but what the hell?

I feel the same way. Dramatic ages is HEAVILY player favoring. AI does not tackle rebelled cities and the longer they start the more their loyalty debuff will wreck AI cities.

The AI is already bad enough with loyalty issues in normal mode, but is really disatrous with Dramatic Ages. Once there's two or three free cities next to each other you can se the balck area grow like a cancer.

Potato, you taught me the game before i was in college and got it myself. Recently, I’ve noticed that your play has gotten stale (not your videos, i love them). Specifically, the way you play civ is geared towards winning as opposed to enjoying the journey. Sometimes you gotta build an aqueduct simply because the “citizens” want running water.

They should really fix the AI. Every game I’ve played, eventually the AI just grinds to a complete halt. I’ve invaded and it seems like the AI has just left the game and is force-ending their turn. Nothing is being produced, and I can take over the entire civilization with a small army, no units are being produced. This particular game mode I just avoid, it’s too painful for me to lose cities, but if I do play, I’ll just aim along, until every AI has lost, they eventually succumb to free city units, barbarians and loyalty pressure.
