I'm gonna end up buying this game because of these videos and only play it for 2 hours while still watching all the content on it. I think I'm OK with that.

Yep, I bought it after episode 2. My first ever purchase on EG. Felt bad during the install but since playing, I do not regret it. 😂

I also bought it, but I am struggling to understand how it works. These videos are helping. I started on a higher difficulty, and the AIs are gang banging me. So many events that mess up your relations, unless you act like a whimp. Its like a mix of Civ, and Crusader, but hardly shares any of the mechanics.

@@the_hate_inside1085 yeah I'm no where near as good a player as potato, like, civ 6 I win about a third of my diety games. Into OW and I'm struggling with "the good". In honesty I'm addicted to the starting half of the game, I keep restarting with different nations and maps etc as I love the opening explore and reveal play. To be fair I do this with a lot of video games. Haha. Currently im on turn 111 with Greece, currently got an army of hoplites vs Rome. One bit of advice I have to ease the amount of events and deaths etc is to do one or both of the following: 1) advanced settings, you can reduce the amount of events 2) play using semesters not years, it helps you keep track of the characters much easier and your mistakes have more turns in the game where they can be rectified or forgotten about. It's worth noting semesters vs years doesn't change the 200 turn cap, it just essentially makes everyone live longer. I vastly prefer the feel of semester play. 😊👍

I bought OW when it launched but wasn't able to play due to my PC not being good enough. I recently got a new PC and have been playing this but definitely need some help still.... mechanics arent all obvious and tutorials are text heavy

There is a bit of a 'hard Cap' on the Military Resource. You cannot save more than 2000 'Training'. It can temporarily go above that, but the excess will then dissappear. So what I've found is, Global Training is very easy to have a lot for promotions, but to produce military fast you want a city with barracks, ranges, officer Specialists, oremines (if you are lucky), miner specialists and a Governor with high Courage to produce units fast. Growth is of limited use, depending on what you do with a city. If you want to spam tons of specialists to increase science and general resources then growth is good, but you need local civicproduction to speed that up as well (Governor, Courthouse, Quarry specialist, Marble). If you want a dedicated settler/scout/worker/Caravan city, then growth is good too. But if you build a lot of units or run repeatable civics for science, culture or money, then Growth is not really a priority as it 'only' gives you access to more potential specialists. And unlike Civilization you do not need to hit a citizen threshhold to unlock things, or work tiles / improvements. Only for specialists (which are good of course, but not necessary for a city to give you lot's of resources). Also every citizen you have, which you do not spend on being a specialist actually needs 1 urban tile to exist within your city borders. If there are less urban tiles than you have unused citizens, these citizens give you a penalty instead. Like 'overpopulation' so to speak.

Decoupling production is just a good way to encourage city specialization, methinks.

Potato are you broadening your games? If yes thats pretty cool
@tatenolte31623 жыл бұрын
You should do an "alliances" style civ game where you put people on teams with civs that compliment each other. Like Korea and Babylon together or something like that. And then for you, you get a random civ and so does your "teammate"

In true Roman fashion, what better way to show that you as an early unprepared ruler are suited to the throne than by taking over a bunch of barbarian lands?

The training and civics max at 2000. You have to spend them to not loose them. Sadly this difficulty is too easy

Does anyone else have really low quality settings for this video? It is only showing 360p as an option.

That happens for a few minutes when videos are uploaded usually if you close the video and come back in a minute or two you can get higher quality
