I bought a LCD fan for my of only to find out it needs a controller. I've seen a three pack with controller for 90bucks then a 3 pack with controller for 40 bucks. Idk if it's all the same or I need a specific one for my fan. If I can buy the one for 40 bucks and use my LCD fan cool but if I cant then I'll have to return it and wait for more pennies. He doesn't mention if the controller on the cheaper fans works on the LCD fans.

I built a new pc last Christmas, with lian li aio and lian li al120 fans, overall I'm satisficed with the look/visuals of the fans as well as the Galahad 360 aio, and the ease of daisy chaining! I'm just not a huge fan of having to use software, often needing to use several different to sync up all the rgb and controlling it! I'm honestly thinking of changing to a Montech King 95 pro case! Sure more cable management, but the 6 included fans are already sorted and setup, including a fan controller + there is room for 3 more fans on the controller, so will just add 3 more Montech to keep it easy and clean! And it can be controlled directly from the case front, less software to deal with, and no need to buy a front ARGB Control & usb module, like on the lancool 216! It is all included with the Montech pro version!😃

My Evo case has Uni Infinity fans in it. When I saw these, I actually wanted to grab one three pack to replace the side fans in my case (for pure aesthetic reasons only). But I just don't want to add another controller to the case. When I swapped out all my old Corsair fans for Infinities, it was all about reducing controllers & cables. Getting a set of these adds more cables and another controller. It would be fine if the new controller for the TL fans allowed you to plug your Infinities into it as well, but it doesn't. So going to be skipping these. Perhaps when it is time to build a new system, I will consider them. But by that time, Lian Li will probably have completely new fans out. These look nice though!

The LCD fans also apparently don’t work on port 1 of the controller either as it causes issues with usb disconnects, derBauer has a video on it where he experienced this issue.

He also said that the Lian Li was aware of the issue and that it will be fixed when the fans go into retail. Der Bauer had gotten a pre-sale version of the Fans. So this should no longer be an issue. Provided that they actually fixed the issue.

Another problem: because the TL fans are larger than other regular fans, they will not fit on all cases. I had this problem with a NZXT H9 Flow. It doesn't fit on the exhaust back place so I had to use a different fan on that spot.

Well done Sir, it crossed my mind when you did your wiring vid on these fans that people might not have enough plugs for the fans if the Gpu was taking 3, maybe Lian li think the new high power single plugs for Gpu's will free up the 6 pins for TL fans, might happen on new builds but anyone retrofitting TL fans into an old style PSU or GPU with no Hi power port will come unstuck, if Lian li rush out some sort of conversion cable so as to take power from a sata port you know they screwed up.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about size. My case only fits a 120 fan and the "120" LCD fan is not 120. Much bigger than advertised! Not only does it not fit my back fan space, but after measuring it's 124 length which is fine but the 120 width is not 120 when you need to plug the cable on that side so with the cable bulk it's closer to 126!! Huge fail design!

Ya just for anyone reading, its advertised as 120x124, however the bulky 6mm thick plug is on the side that extends the 120mm width so its not trutly 120 to fit in tight case spaces. I have the NZXT H9 elite case which is a common one and it doesnt fit the 120mm back fan space because there's no room beyond the 120mm. You can turn the fan so the plug is vertical, but the 124mm width that way doesnt fit 120mm space for this case. Huge oversight in design in my opinion for popular cases like this. I actually ended up shaving down the 4mm extra with a dremel yesterday just to get it to fit lol@@TheProvokedPrawn

I had the AL V2s and I really wanted to get these fans but I just can’t deal with their software anymore. It’s buggy and was causing massive micro stutters, even on a brand new build. I pulled the plug on the wildly expensive Corsair link fans because their software at least just works, at least for me, and I have to us it anyways for some peripherals.

I built my first PC in May. I always assumed that PC case fans all worked by daisy chaining them together. The worst part the PC building experience was dealing with the cables for the 10 fans in my O11 Evo. Then just a few months later Corsair and Lian Li drop these fans. Just my luck.

I managed to connect 9 of the Lcd fans with only 1 controller no problems so far. But i noticed that the cpu usage went up to 7-10% in idle .

I like Lian Li products when they work. The Software is so bad. Sometimes the Strimer will stop responding and the only fix is to delete any other rgb software like aura sync and then reinstall L connect and hope it works. I even had to do a fresh windows install after trying everything one time.

I have been having an issue with one of the sensors for the lcd fans not coming on during pc startup. My solution has been to restart the lconnect service in services under task manager. When it restarts, the lcd displays properly. This doesnt happen on every startup but frequently enough to be an annoyance.

Have you noticed CPU usuage running L-connect 3 software? Mine is 7-13% depending on whats displayed on fans or Gallhad II , in turn making idle temps go from mid 30s to low 40s and using more power then needed .

You can use one controller as long as it's the TL controller. And you will need the PCIe power

I have three of these TL Standard Fans hooked up with one cable to the controller, but every 10-60 minutes or so the two daisy chained to the primary fans RGB cuts out and comes back after about a second, do i need to reposition the fans around to stop that?

I have some troubleshooting to do. I have 3 120mm fans and 1 140mm fan connected to the same controller, which is in turn connected to the NZXT internal USB hub. My 140mm fan isn't working though. I tried swapping the connector around the other free ports, and nothing worked.

I continue to use an old type PSU in my system, but almost everyone using Nvidia 4000 series has these new ATX 3.0 PSUs. Lian Li's new controllers could easily work with 2 x Sata cables instead of 6 pin. There is a negligence of Lian Li here.

Everything turns on and seems to work just fine, however the sensors for the LCD fans don't display the correct info. Sensors are not matching what the task manager says when it comes to CPU/GPU loads and temps. I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times. Any idea?

Can you review my fans and let me know what you think? There the thermaltake magnetic ARGB fans. I think the blade that pop off to change for reverse blades are cool and also easy cleaning. But the mags and software can be a pain if you don’t get it right

very useful video as usual. I have a question if anyone's so kind to answer. I do have an AIO with 360 SL INF and 2 sets of 120mm SL INF. I want to add to 2xLCD 140mm fans, would this work out? I already have 2 controllers in the system one for the AIO and one for the 6 other fans, as they have different connectors and can't all be installed in the same controller. Would the LCD fans require a 3rd Lian li controller or would it be possible to connect to one of the 2 I already have? Cause if that's the case I may just skip the LCD fans altogether and just get 2 extra 140mm SL INF to complete the system and have them all the same. I have 10 fans in my PC case. They are Lian Li LCD and TL. I have a 7 with LCD that maxes out at up to 1900RPM and a 3 pack with TL that is supposed to max out at 2600RPM but actually maxes out at 2100RPM for some reason. WHY! :( My computer is not cheap. I just build my first PC a few days ago, and I have to say those are nice fans but they can do better. 3 fans on my AIO that have to be connected to the CPU fan, not the connecter. That means I can't use Lianli's software to change the RGB of those ones. And there is a problem with their software, it can't be linked to the MSI centre which is where my motherboard came from. So the RGB in my set up is not united, which is a bit sad.

Wouldn't mind if you shared some info of why the Gallahads are getting recalled? Plenty of reviews giving great reviews, yet nothing available, and the rumour is that they are getting recalled. And what about ATX 3.0 PSU's with the new connector to the gpu? Can you even use these fans on such a psu?

I've had no such info. Not heard anything about a recall. I think that's the older Galahad coolers. Not v2. As for 3.0, yes it'll work because you usually still have multiple PCIe connectors.

I installed 3 of the tl-lcd fans with an lcd connector to an lcd hub and that hub is connected to the rgb pins and usb pins on the motherboard and the pcie that i attached to the power supply. Now i got the fans and lcd screen working. However the rgb doesn't work and with l-connect 3 it does pickup the hub. But i can't change anything with the fans. Any idea how to fix this?

@@yzo0001 hmmm. Have you looked for firmware updates? You might need to update the controller. You should be able to change the RGB in L Connect assuming the usb is connected properly.

it will not work unfortunately and i tried it myself. the LCD fans use a TL controller whereas the reverse blades are SL model and use the SL controller instead.

i’m having a problem with one of my intake fan not working it will sometimes work and later turn back off but if i reset my pc it will turn back on the center screen will work but led light and fan won’t be running what could this be?

I have the lcd fans connected to the same controller as the so Infiniti fans and the sl Infiniti fans won’t turn on. Can they not be connected to the same controller

You need a TL controller for TL fans. Not the infinity fan controller

ive spent hours and hours of my time now and have taken my pc to 2 shops each keeping it for a week before giving up Im not sure whats wrong with my fans but the lcd screen shows the logo but theres no rgb and my set of 3 fans wont show up at all in l connect. ive plugged everything into every possible spot ima lost if someone can help please let me know

I have 7 (1 rear, 3 side, and 3 bottom) LCD fans in my PC and L-connect only shows the LCD Screen in Fan Utility on one channel (bottom). When I change the LCDs in that channel it changes the LCD in other channels (1 on bottom, 1 on side, and 1 on rear). If I sync all on one fan, all fans will sync to whatever I set. I can not change them individually except for the 3 that shows in the bottom channel. I have tried switching them around and also switching channels. I reinstalled L-connect twice. Contacted Lian Li and they haven't been very helpful.. Anyone have any tips for me?

Im about to Put 9 LCD Fans in my system , 3 for the Radiator ( Lian Li Galahad 2 Performance)and 6 as Case Fans. The Radiator will be in the top 3 intakte on the Side and 3 intakte on the bottom of the Case . But im Not Sure how to do it with the aio what to connect where . Can someone explain me how to do it the best way?

I think you forgot one key thing... The screens don't turn off. If I knew that, I would have held off on buying them until they figured that out.
