Good to see this playthrough and channel coming back! Like you I've decided to pick this game up again in the mean time instead of PoE2, well I am still playing PoE2 but a lot more casually than I would have preferred thanks to server desyncing issues causing constant stutters and crashes; the solution? Get better internet, which hopefully is not too far away. I made the mistake of starting on "Suffering" difficulty, and let me tell you; it really lives up to its name but not in a good way. There may or may not be some exploits related to the talent tree that can help alleviate some of the problems but if you're trying to do a playthrough on this difficulty legit then just be prepared for that day counter to go into the quadruple digits+ by the end because you need to grind a LOT for just a little bit of progress. I will be sticking with it for the time being to see if I can find some way to optimize it so that it's a bit more playable. The biggest flaw is the combination of having potions sell for basically nothing alongside everything costing in the hundreds and thousands. You want to repair Alchemy Machine? 17k. You want to buy a seed for your garden? 1.8k for just some Windbloom seed. Cheapest ingredients that you already grow in your garden usually cost 300 each normally. It's honestly ridiculous, would have much preferred a more risk vs reward type of difficulty, not some; grind for 10 in game years type of difficulty.
@KillrobPlays5 күн бұрын
Ahh sucks that your internet connection can't handle PoE :( hope that gets resolved soon, seem to be such a good game at its core :) I've only played an hour so far, haven't had time for more making these videos. xD Suffering difficulty was tempting, but seems to just be wasting time and not providing interesting gameplay? I'm on episode 5 now here in my Grandmaster run and ohh boy, it is bad enough and partially nonsensical here, too! I do agree that design-wise, this is a poor choice for how to make the game more difficult. I tried Classic difficulty in my test play and it did seem to flow very well and was really easy for anyone experienced already. Thing is though, Grandmaster isn't actually much harder, just takes more time / requires a different focus (harder = more self reliance on the garden, I guess). Cheers!
@EpicLegend13375 күн бұрын
@@KillrobPlays Higher difficulties I find are just garden grind fests. Selling potions to customers is not enough, you must abuse the garden with Wild Growth and batch brewing as much as possible to also empty out merchant gold every day. Buying ingredients from merchants is synonymous with dropping a boulder on your foot, it's a shame this side of the game is made completely obsolete. Garden upgrades and seeds should be your main priority, Alchemy Machine be damned. The more different seeds you unlock the more efficient your recipes become which translates to more gold as merchants become your main source of income. Experience is not an issue and those books on the map end up serving almost zero purpose, since batch brewing constantly like this gives you loads of exp. I wouldn't say it's entirely worse than classic so far, it's just different, whether it's bad or not depends on how much patience you have for grinding, there's some rewarding feeling unlocking a new Garden upgrade or buying a new seed. Suffering is way too far, Grandmaster is a bit more ideal for this style of play however even that's not perfect. The difficulty design definitely needs a rework, if only the devs communicated more and did a beta before rolling out this patch, that way it would have been a bit better tuned. Sorry for the long yap xD looking forward to see how you tackle the grind in future episodes!
@KillrobPlays5 күн бұрын
Indeed it does play very different and in these first 5 episodes I have recorded I've pretty much reached the same conclusions as you in terms of gardening and gold :) did quite a bit of theory crafting in those that will be familiar to you haha. I plan on exploring the gold conversion of book spawning, too. That might be a little bit of an extra boost that I need to continue at a decent pace. Gotta be able to afford the seeds somehow! :D Cheers

Yeah, I'm definitely not burned out on the game anymore - although Grandmaster Difficulty might do that eventually xD
@BleachWizz5 күн бұрын
8:45 - it depends, I'll soon try the game out just too full with uni stuff.\ anyway I don't care about spoilers so I'm watching anyway xD anyway again, past the point your garden is full it might be better to collect the plants and let a new one be born than to lose on ingredients up until the point you've maxed it. maybe if you're sure that at most 5 plants can be born each day then you leave your garden almost full up until that point, nonetheless: if it gets full before the an upgrade you could've gathered earlier and had an easier time. on the oher hand if you don't buy and don't need any of them then it also makes no difference. so for me the best strat leave until you need it but collect before leaving the garden full and buying from the shop.
