I'm replying in English even though I am as Afrikaans as that potjie.😀Very nicely done sir,I have done a few restorations in my time.Nothing compares to seeing a rusted,foul looking potjie turned into a masterpiece and cooking in it for the first time,there is pride in that.👏👏👏👏👏 Wel gedaan meneer.

You did a great job explaining everything and the steps that you were going through. I enjoyed this video. From the camera it looked like it was a brand new pot. By the way you did ask what country everybody’s from. I’m from the United States Pennsylvania on top of a mountain anyway I hope you have a wonderful day. This is very interesting.

I love using cast iron for cooking. We dry ours by heating it on our gas stove. We've had 2 frying pans and a griddle for many years and they still have no rust. I know a lot of people do use cooking oil. Maybe we should try that before we heat it. What do you suggest? 😊😊👋👋❤❤
@MickyBellRoberts8 ай бұрын
I have always used cooking oil, works great for sealing/curing.
@backachershomestead8 ай бұрын
You would be amazed at the old cast iron still thrown away in the US. They think it's ruined when it's rusty. The collectors have driven the prices up on the good old pieces. A lot of the newer stuff the casting is porous and doesn't seem to hold a good seal.
