When you said " super pachnoi " I thought you ment maybe that the plant was perhaps larger dimension plant. I didn't realize it ment mescaline alkaloid content being higher🤔 Although interesting scientifically and curious cause lophophora very in alkaloid content and composition ( williamsii, diffusa) as well. As far as consuming these plants I can't think of any reason to ruin a beautiful plant that took so long to grow and being naustious and hallucinating🤤🙄😲😬. I love the history of native use, in North and central Americans tribal religion, but that is best left to those native tribes. I just love to watch them grow over the years, decades. Your video has reminded me to also separate and repot my Trichocereus grandiflora hybrid seedlings. They are about the size of your large & medium sized seedlings. Thanks again Lyn for a great video!!! From Morris park in the Ozarks to across the Emerald Isle, have a great weekend!!! Peace,Love,Plants!!!✌💖🌵🌸🌴💐🌿🌻🍀🌷

@@desertplantsofavalon You're thinking about the medicine in completely the wrong way that's why you don't understand. San Pedro is beautiful and sacred medicine that connects us to the spirit world and heals our bodies on all levels. It's not a "drug", you don't "hallucinate", these are western ways of viewing sacred medicine. Also the vomiting is the medicine cleaning any negative energy blockages from your body. San Pedro, Peyote, Ayahuasca etc are powerful doctor spirits and healers, they want us to consume them to work with us and heal our bodies and the planet. Much love xxxx

In -place of those fifty mm pots, you might try 3 oz. bathroom cups. These are 50 mm tall and 50 mm diameter. They come in bags of 100. mine come from Walmart and are white. Another substitute is to go to your local restaurant supplier and get 4 oz. soufflé cups. these are 45 mm deep and 70 mm diameter. Usually soufflé cups are translucent plastic, but I did find a source online for black ones. Mine came in a sleeve of 125 pieces. The trouble with using this type of container is that they have no resistance to Ultra violet light. They are excellent for the short term, but after about a year, they become very brittle and break easily, so you want to use them for plants that will quickly outgrow them and move on to other pots.

@@desertplantsofavalon ive had a look around. the red party cups, seems you can get them but a beer pong game set but only 20 cups and 5 pounds plus. the best thing i could find currently is some very slightly bigger, 6x6cm, 100 for under 5 pounds 100 PACK NURSERY POTS Outdoor Vegetable Flower Plant Plastic Pot Garden from china on ebay so ive ordered them, as i fear normal shoot glass types are just a tad to small. its crazy i don't matter how long you search or what you search for under 6cm its nearly impossible unless you use the card ones but i don't see them lasting long enough. so far ive been lucky as my brother had 60 4cm pots from the garden plants he ordered so, so far they have been used but i do not plan on selling those pots as to hard to get it seems. at least i found something what will work at i sensible price :) but just 3 weeks to wait but thats not an issue as many months yet before potting up others

I bought a fresh cut piece of San Pedro online and received on July 2. I applied cinnamon on the bottom of the San Pedro to help healing. I planted on a pot without water. Today is July 14 and I'm planning to watering on July 16 and then ones a week. How I know the cactus is growing and everything going fine? I don't want my San Pedro dies. Thank you on advance and for sharing your knowledge.
@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon 4 жыл бұрын
Hi :-D I would keep the soil mostly dry for the first 6 weeks after potting up your cutting, and instead of watering I would mist around the base of your cactus and the soil once a week, to lightly moisten the very top surface of the soil only, your San Pedro will still root in dry soil, and watering before the cactus has rooted could encourage rot, once you have seen fresh green growth from the top of your cactus it will have rooted, Here is a link to a video I have made on How to tell when a Columnar cactus has rooted : kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHWvaJSBYsiepKM I hope this helps :-D XXXXX

Hello, on your last video I asked you about soil, since then I have repoted my cacti into a much heavier sandy mix will this be suitable for cactus growth? As I am a beginner I have so many questions to be answered and your videos help me allot thanks!
@emmitstewart1921
@emmitstewart1921 4 жыл бұрын
You just reminded me Of my great aunt Rita. She lived way out in the hills and bagged potting soil was not easy to come by, and bagged cactus soil was something unheard of at the time, but she loved her cactus plants. There was a little stream running past her home called Big Horn Creek. (This was the one in West Virginia, Custer never came within a hundred miles of it.) It had flash floods every spring that left behind many piles of sand and gravel. She would take a bucket down to the creek and fill it with sand, and this was what she used to pot her cacti. The fact is that cacti are very adaptable and will be happy in a wide range of soils. As long as it is well drained and allowed to dry out well between watering, they will thrive.
@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Nehemiah, so happy my videos help you with growing your cacti, any well draining soil that dries out well in between watering is the best, if the sandy mix you have repotted your cacti in dries out fairly fast this will be great for them :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend XXXX

If I'm potting a 2inch seedling as were heading into winter (also UK) should I not water it at all until spring? Also where in my house should I keep it over winter?
@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon 11 ай бұрын
Hi Peter :-D its best to not water now until Spring, but if your cactus shows signs of shrivelling too much you can give a light water, if you have a light window or can keep it close to a light window this would be the best for overwintering, in winter light isn't such a necessity when cacti are resting, but a cool and bright position away from radiators is best, thanks so much fr your wonderful comment and for watching and have a super Sunday XXXX

@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon 2 жыл бұрын
Thats a very good point haha :-D and these Trichocereus cacti can grow very tall if growing in the ground, I think the problem with my climate is because of the excess humidity we get here in Ireland and UK they can take a while to dry out in their pots even if only watered lightly, If my climate was drier and the air was more arid I would definitely give these cuties a bigger root run, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Sunday XXXX
