Love the video. I was living on Potts Point (Hugh St, just off Victoria Road) in 2001 when backpacking. Great to see the area again and which parts have changed.

I used to frequent the Cross thirty years ago. You will be surprised to learn that many of the signboards especially near the railway station are still the same. Almost nothing has changed in all these years.

Thanks Tom. It was a walk down "memory lane" for me. I grew up in Potts Point and remember it over 65 years ago! Some of the buildings haven't changed, but the businesses certainly have. I do remember strip joints and "Les Girls" back in the 1950's but there were a lot more genteel shops, not so much fast food places. I would not feel safe walking the streets as I did as a child because of the druggies etc. There were many famous artists living there 65 years ago, and only a few harmless alcoholics in the back lanes. Still a great neighbourhood, no-where quite like it. It has changed dramatically in the last 5-6 years, and especially since the 90's. Back then it was a very different place where you had to be alert, and ofcourse at night it was a complete zoo. Today it's safer than the suburbs, there's no cause for concern as long as you mind your own business, a fantastic community of locals

I find Potts Point a beautiful suburb. I love it here. The streets look lovely to walk around looking at the old fashioned little homes and cute simple stores. I'm a simple man. The city around is littered with amazing monuments and stone buildings, and some hidden Egyptian symbols scattered around the city. The city parks are beautiful especially the Archibald fountain, In potts point I've never felt safer than before in my life. I feel like I can become who I want in this place. 90 percent of the people I've met momentarily were nice men and women mostly old, I get along better with the wiser. Also darlinghurst Street had its good days I must admit, it was original. I'm 30 years old now though I remember it being wild, and I can't imagine the stories before my time. But kings cross is crap now. The wild junk days are over. Macleay Street should follow with its nice strip all the way through darlinghurst St. I'd love to set a business in this area catering to the people and myself. Myself am from Granville a High school drop out running with fools and like a fool I wound up in Sydney jail, like 5 times. I'm here because I found a cheap joint, by chance it was here for this price. I haven't been here since I was a kid. Its nice. I feel safe, the most are clever people. Not bad my kind of suburb. Unfortunately I don't fit in. Or maybe I can fit myself in with honest hard work and charity and praying. Praying for humility praying for knowledge and wisdom and understanding. I don't belong anywhere. But fuck it I'm 250 bucks down for rent this week. I gotta sort this out once and for all. Peace.
