Remember that Yakuza is a criminal organization better defined as MAFIA not GANG. These two organizations work totally differently. MAFIA is much more sophisticated than GANGS. Its like Italian mafia or Russian one. Gangs are famous only in USA, England, France. In countries like Italy (where I live), GANGS are owned by the different MAFIA groups.

@@unclejesse4271 yes that is what i was saying. Mafia over gangs, in those countries where Mafia exists. Mafia uses street gangs for commit minor crimes (es. selling drugs). What i wanted to mean was that Mafia is on another level of power. Mafiosi dont show themself, gangs wear all those luxury stuff and show their money just for... show. You will never see the real bosses from Yakuza or Ndrangheta. In Italy street gangs cant do nothing without the orders coming from Mafia. Furthermore, Mafia is inside Italian politics since '80... For Japan and Yakuza is the same. If you are intrested check this: Ndrangheta (most powerful Mafia in the world), Camorra, Cosa Nostra.

When I served in US Marines in Okinawa, we used to fly to Osaka to party. We used to always run into Yakuza members in after party clubs like 7th Heaven IYKYK! One time we were in the VIP partying with one family and a huge crazy fight almost broke out between them and another family but it ended up just being a shouting match. Was scared outta my mind, but afterwards we walked with one the bosses outside as heh was leaving with this super beautiful Russian chick. He gave his LV scarf to the club security a big black African guy and told him in Japanese to give it to me and my friend because we kept our cool when the fight almost broke out. If you're into the party scene anywhere in Japan chances are extremely high the Yakuza run the places!!!

@sakikq2tk8 ай бұрын
The woman in this video doesn't explain much so just in case, recenty there are many types of gang groups in Japan. The first one is as the video features the YAKUZA but ever since the law against yakuza's got strict in 90s, their activities have been restricted still having huge impact on the society in Japan. Later that, the second one,a new type of criminal groups which is called 半グレ han-gre started committing crimes such as rubbery, drug dealing,and fraud. In Japanese 半 han means "half" and グレ gre means "gray" and "delinquency" as name of this type shows, they are out of yakuza's code and the law against yakuza doesn't apply to them and Japanese police department can't grasp how it's organized. They are staying very active in many urban cities in Japan and there's some cases that they affiliated with Yakuza too. Last, there's some foreign people that make a group and commit a crime, especially Chinese and Vietnamese. Some specialist say because of the law getting strict and yakuza doesn't have that much power like before, 半グレ and foreign criminal groups are very active.

he asked them if they do it to protect themselves and they answered it's just what bad kids end up doing.. I think this is more similar to the cartel or mafia than American gangs (who might feel safer in the gang and think it's a solution to their problems in the hood). The yakuza seems more like an organized crime ring to make money and gain power rather than protect the community, except instead of drugs they're selling gambling or whatever they do
@skel-eton24994 ай бұрын
@@user-cj9md2oi3xit’s not a protection and it isn’t that similar to cartel or Italian the only thing they really have in common is how they recruit people and the respect they have for their brothers because the yakuza recruit younger people that dropped out of high school and aren’t connected to parents or runaway from their parents or are desperate and honestly the yakuza has been dying out because there aren’t a lot of young people joining anymore because of how much time is needed to actually get far with yakuza and make decent money also the yakuza lifestyle isn’t appealing to new age Japanese people anymore back then they were seen as cool but now with the crackdown on them and how long it takes to actually get far most younger people turn to normal gangs that offer quick money
@user-cj9md2oi3x4 ай бұрын
@@skel-eton2499 yeah I was just thinking motive wise.. since cartels and the mafia are not motivated by protecting a small community/neighborhood but are just looking for money and power. and they usually commit worse atrocities than American gangs. There are some crazy wild stories about shit the yakuza has done especially to women and for literally no reason .. it's just a collection of bad kids grown up in my eyes .. but honestly I do see how cartels are very diff bc a lot of the times ppl might join them for safety too or bc they have nothing else motivating them and that's their way out of poverty plus Im sure culturally and organizationally theyre very diff.
