I have a pounded well at 40' , have ten plus gallons a minuite. The well supplies two homes.

I’ve watched this video and read several comments on how each individual describes their well dug, Not one describes the quality of water they are getting. It has been my experience that with drilled wells the water quality is less likely to be as good as pounded wells. Reason being the pounding creates that top 30 o 40 foot of fresh ground water before you reach the depths you do with drilled wells around 300 ft plus. Drilling past the sweet spots in the earth to get freshener water, instead where one could get suffer and hard water into the house by drilling. No one talks of the cost of the post well system they pay for by choosing the cheaper route with the drilling process. pounding is safer for the water quality production in my research. No one likes stinky water.

This might be a stupid question but why do you need a CO? Is it a bank making you do it/ a loan condition ?

It's all BS. Much like building permits and inspections.

To get a loan from a bank, yes, you absolutely need a c/o. You might also need it get in insurance, but I'm not sure on that. Also, if you ever want to sell your house, you'd have to sell it for cash because the buyer wont be able to get a loan on it. I also feel like the town is not going to approve of you having a house without a c/o because it can be a deathtrap and an eyesore for all they know, which can lower property values in the area, and so on and so on.

OGB makes sense. I’m guessing you have a plan to make this house something big/substantial enough to justify having a selling plan to recoup significant investment costs and / or a plan to make good money on the structure itself?

I ask b/c I got a loan with some small run down cabins on it (in NY) that I live in on a temporary basis - I didn’t need a CO and don’t plan to pour much money into the structures either. What town/county are you in?

Always. We are building a 2200sqft shop/garage in the spring and our main house several years in the future. Investing a buttload of $$. Will need a loan, etc etc.

Flat fee here for guaranteed water is $10,200 cdn. That includes drilling to 520ft, casing, small frack, pump, pressure tank, excavation, abs, electrical and all labour.

I think I would prefer to have my hole drilled, rather than pounded. But that's just my personal preference.

Sorry but OGB you are wrong about most of the things you talked about. Don’t give “expertise” on something you have no clue about. Let licensed well drillers do that.
