Thank you for giving me another shopping list, John!😂 You’re always helping me fill up my wine fridges, and I’m actually out of space now for future acquisitions - and that’s partly thanks to you!😂 Love the title of this video, by the way. “Pour Decisions” is so witty! And what a great selection this one is! Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte has a cellar that looks straight out of a James Bond movie? I’m on my way!🤣 I seriously love this producer. Enjoyed only their Second Wine but twice already, and I look forward to tasting their Grand Vin when I get the chance to return to Bordeaux. And, wow, Clos des Papes 2020 - why didn’t I look for that specific bottle when I was in CdP? I’ll definitely get it when I get another chance to revisit! Thank you for this amazing list! The best, as always - I wouldn’t trust anybody else! Santé, John!

@@AttorneySomm I'm waiting for the delivery :D. If you want some of my opinion when comes to spain wine rioja it's ok but if you want some recomendations i would try jumilla next big thing after toro (toro wines 15 years ago well the best value per euro) or some new winerys (Dominio de Calogia nice bodega boutique premium quality his Cuvee S 2019 (165€) win our best wine 2023) or some centenary old vines (Some of my favourites El Cenit, El Linze) From Jumilla Casa Castillo are pretty good but for me El Nido from Juan Gil Family are the best and their second wine Clio also excelent this wine win our 40€-50€ competition. (One of my favourties syrah are from Jumilla call Valtosca from Casa Castillo super concentrate complex need decanter sound similar to the torbreck)

I'll keep an eye out and see if some of them are available here in Texas. Salud!

@@AttorneySomm hi John. I have noticed that the KZbinrs I follow on this subject often use similar themes at the same time. This is not a criticism, btw, as I enjoy all of each of your videos. For example, Agnese from No Sediment, has just put up her video on the subject of the five wines she will be buying in 2024. And you both had a number of clips on the various ratings and league tables before Christmas. Konstantin Baum often does likewise, although not, so far, on this occasion. Is there a natural pattern throughout the year that you all tend to follow? As I say, I enjoy all the videos and you do each have a different emphasis but I am curious as to why this happens.
@AttorneySomm11 ай бұрын
@@stevenholt4936 Hi Steven: The videos on top 100 lists tend to do well so I think that encourages more KZbinrs to do them. I try to do them as soon as I can once the lists come out, which is generally in mid-November. Videos on wine goals, trends and themes for the new year are also common late December and early January. Sometimes it’s just a fluke too. One time Matt Horkey and I released a video on $30 wines the same day.

Excelent John and thanks as always. Personally I am going to put a hard stop on further buying. My cellar is exploding and honestly collecting has become an ego thing far surpassing logic. I am only waiting for a couple of allocations : Vine Hill Ranch and Maybach, after those I will buy no more wine for some time. Have a tasting with my best friends on Tuesday because of my bday. The wines I selected are : Chateau Pavie 2008, Herb Lamb Reserve 2016, Torbreck Runrig 2005, and a VERY weird and unique wine I bought in Athens this past summer and its the Kormelitsa Gold 2016 ( 1,086 bottles in total, mine is 546 ). I know the tasting is all ovet the place, but that is the idea. Have a great Sunday.

Do you remember a 95 point wine Spector fo Muga Reserve ?
@AttorneySomm4 ай бұрын
I ran a search in my transcript notes. There is a 2018 Bodegas Muga Seleccion Especial that has all the declassified fruit from the top wines and has WE 96, 95 WA and 94 JS. Not sure about a WS 95 for a Muga Reserve bottling off the top.
