If it was pure gold at $84/gram it would be worth 12012. Minus roughly 10% for silver type content, you get around $10,000. Now, how long did it take to mine, dig, and muck that 3 tons? I am curious because I know during the California Gold Rush the only ones to really get rich were the ones selling the shovels.

It’s not worth the effort, you’d want to be making about $1000 a day, so this should be ten days work. It was more than ten days work. If you don’t value your time though it’s a great hobby!

That’s the thing, he is selling the shovels. MBMM his company, sells all the equipment he uses on the channel. The mining he does is for his hobby and to show case his equipment (crushers, hammer mills, shaker tables etc)

@@drewski5730 idk. Counting what the videos said they pulled 470ish bags or 13ish tonnes out this year with just two guys working 70ish days. Assuming one dude and a days work to process 3 tonnes call it another 3 days to process. So that's already $650/day for them this year and they failed to blow through. Next year when they blow through their travel time out reduces by 85% and they'll be able to blast and muck way more, and do less waste blasts because they only need 7.5 feet for the new carriage way they are creating. Theres nothing stopping them from getting 1200+ bags out next year with 2 guys and 80 days work. Bumping that up to 1300ish a day. That would absolutely be worth the effort for only 2 guys working 5 days a week 9-10 hours a day. Assuming 40% overhead split two ways you'd be paying yourself $45/hour. That's absolutely viable.

Nice video, Jason. Well explained! The chemical process of driving a chemical reaction to completion is literally called "using excess reagent." The limiting reagent is the sulfides in the melt, so adding iron (nails) to the melt soaks up all (almost all) of the sulfur converting it to iron Sulfide. The fact that some of the nails still exist at the end of the pour is proof you have achieved iron as "the excess reagent." Good job! Oh...and I guessed 150g. That is a really nice payday! Proof that there is still plenty of "Gold in them thar hills!" And I did the math: it looks like your high-grade is about 31.5 g/metric ton. So just a smidge under 1 troy ounce per metric ton of ore. Not bad!

Probably worth hauling out the waste and ore mix that you backfilled once the drift is done. Can't sell it as ore bags but there should be some nice gold + profit from extra videos. Now do the #1 pannings and #2 cons. I wonder if you could spread them out on big plate of steel and light a bonfire under it to roast them.
