I love your positive attitude Julie, you are always upbeat and an inspiration. I love your long videos too, and don't want you to shorten them please. You have given me the courage to go ahead and start trying to use resin myself. I get a bit worried when it sometimes says on sites, that it can overheat, but you have proven that it can be great fun. I really love your abstract art too, you never cease to amaze. Take care, Val from Portsmouth, UK. xxx

I love these. I am going to try and make some of the cake stands that Petra makes for a bridal shower for a friends daughter. I bake really well and I am making mini cupcakes for it. And these colors would be perfect to give the bride as a gift! Or I may make a few in various colors, I loved the malachite myself, and let the bride pick her favorite!

Hi Julie, I think the ring around the edge is from the clear resin you poured in the middle (not the second coat) The clear resin spread to just before the edge and then it starts pulling back into the centre. Pretty sure that’s what it is. Very beautiful. I did a similar colour cake stand for my mum for Christmas

Love love looove this set Julie. I must get myself one of those gold leafing pens. Beautiful and shiny texture. Tip for you re: the close focus. If you place your hand behind the close up item it helps it to refocus faster. 😁 Also try doing the resin in 2 layers if you want more of a transparent effect. More transparent colour first and you can add your glitter centre in that layer then complete with 2nd layer of 2 or even 3 colors. Drag a toothpick from ctr to outside around to create a more petal effect. When I get my channel backup and running I'd love to do a collaboration with you. 😁

Hi Julie, I thought I'd let you know that I have been buying loose powder mica eye shadow online as it is a lot cheaper than resin powder pigments. Of course, the eye shadows come in small pots, but it goes a long way doesn't it. When I am able, I am going to hunt around Portsmouth in the UK, in Pound shops to see if they have any even cheaper than online. I have read that you can use it resin pours, so they should be okay. I haven't started on resining yet, but hope to do it very soon. I can't wait to see what coasters etc you make each day, it's so exciting - especially when you take them out of the molds!! I love your paintings too. I've said it before, but you truly are an inspiration. Bye-for-now, Val. x
