Pouring Your Heart Out

Pouring Your Heart Out

Acrylic flip cup pour.
For this flip cup pour, I used my 65% glue and 25% water and 10% Liquitex Pouring Medium as my pouring medium. I then used 1 part of this pouring medium to 1 part of my Global impasto paint. I mixed the gold 1 part PM to 1 1/2 parts gold paint. If you are using thicker paints like Liquitex Basics, you may need to use 1 1/2 parts PM to 1 part paint and if you are using thinner paints, you will need to add more paint to get your mix to the correct consistency.

Isn't it funny how we think something is a failure when others see it as beautiful? Your "mistakes" to me were gorgeous! And most likely there were other viewers who wanted to say at different points in the video, "No, leave it, it's amazing!" Of course, artists have a vision in their minds of what we expect something to look like and we experience disappointment when something happens that we didn't expect, but wouldn't it be nice to be less hard on ourselves! I love your work. You inspire me and I learn so much from you. Thank you, lovely lady :)

I know how it feels. I spend a lot on the materials and sometimes wonder how much longer I will be able to continue. A lot of the stuff comes from the US where it costs 5 and sometimes 10 times less than what it costs us here in Australia. I hear one can buy in bulk at places such as Michael's or Wallmart. Amazon Australia has the monopoly here now on art supplies and they charge an arm and a leg. Certain products are not available at all, despite Amazon in the US selling it. There are 1 or 2 small art supplies, who sell limited variety and the quality is not as good. It is almost as expensive as Amazon Au. Lack of competition allows them to charge what the want. It helps when you get some free stuff from promotions, sell some of get financial support from fans and youtube. When you are retired and get nothing like in my case, it makes it very hard. One must really love what they do to keep it up long term.

I like the way you never quit, you went from something beautiful to some wonderful! You seemed very tired but taught me more then I've ever knew. Thank you so much. Karen

Yes, your experiments are always quite helpful, they definitely help me with what not to do. Lol. Thank you for that! With my 25 year experience in art I'm pretty new to the acrylic pour technique and your videos have been nothing but extremely helpful! And please - stop having hight expectations. Your work is always beautiful, but you go ahead and create another one right on top. Lol. This technique is pure improve and as much as you want to control it - you really don't need to!

Although I’m not happy that you were having a “difficult time“ today; I am happy that I can see one of my favorite artists (you) also having moments with a struggle. You always make it look so easy in your pours , and to see you struggle with something helps me to realize that there might be a light at the end of my difficult, artistic tunnel! Watching your “struggle “ today brought four r words to mind...”Welcome to my World “. 😉

Gurl it was gorgeous at 21 minutes. I’ve been there though, and I still do the same thing today! It’s really a process and a journey and even though it changed since the 21 minute mark I still love it because you showed us your passion, determination, and vision. Acrylic pouring is truly a journey.

Thank you, thank you for being honest about your " fails" and then why as Im watching videos everyday as gathering supplies. Really need those food nets. I deal with Fibromyalgia and endless chronic fatigue so I know how thingscan go very wrong if Im more tired than usual. It will be a challenge to get started doing pours but with your inspiration and teaching; it'll also be a great distraction from my daily pain. Thanks, again, Gilly, much appreciation from Sherry in Pennsylvania,USA🙋‍♀️🤗🥰🤞🤞🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️❤️❤️❤️🙏

I really admire your persistence to try to make what you saw as a failure into something you could be happy with. I am glad that you finally had fun with it. So many people would not share their hard times with us. But I do have to say that I actually liked what you had achieved prior to the first gold swipe. After the first gold swipe I was hoping you would balloon dip then. You are a great artist

There must have been something cosmic yesterday. I’m an artist and preparing for market and had 6 pours yesterday, 2 of which were large. I managed to save 4! I love how I make a living but some days are extremely challenging. You’re like me, I keep trying! 😊
