They are essential - not just for the better braking ability but also to prevent brake dust from building up on the wheels. I do daily drive the car. My previous M4 had carbon ceramics and I put 30k hard miles on them with no problems!

I think you have the best sounding S58 … The gearshifts are incredible…what would someone ask more for a transmission…? Sadly, in Germany there’s no way I could remove cats and OPFs.,. Literally gets your car impounded… I have yet to hear a S58 with legal downpipes and OPF Back to see if that’s sufficient or not… if so, I’m getting an M2…

Aren't there legal loopholes around that? I've seen exhausts that have big mufflers, but somewhat get bypassed when the valves are open. eitherway I'd recommend you to keep your cats and OPF. Cars without cats stink mad horrible. There's a dude at my sister's school with an X3M, and everyone constantly complains about the horrible smell, not even the sound

@@thymme7508 you can get legal aftermarket exhausts that are louder, yes. But nowhere near as good sounding as the on in this video. And then they’re like 10k€ for muffler and downpipe. Not because they are so expensive to make but so expensive to get approved… it’s ridiculous …

I think the G80 is a completely different beast than a FDrx7. I would keep the rx7 forever and save up to get the G80!
