Kristo, you took us from sea level up into the clouds on a super-scenic road. In autumn colours, the hillsides look as if they're covered in gold. Your Scania was up to the challenge of pulling 48 tons up those switchbacks.. She sounds great. Your driving is pro-grade as usual. The head cam is excellent.

What fps this real life is running on yours? Mine is about 3000
@joaonogueira62475 жыл бұрын
@@vxo- If we wanted to get technical about it, the theoretical limit on FPS is 1.855 x 10^43 Hz… which is basically just 1 / the Planck time. However, that’s not a very meaningful figure in context. Planck Time is basically the smallest possible length of time for a relationship of causality to actually be detectable, so reality itself effectively operates there. There are some points here which aren’t plainly obvious, but there are some misconceptions you are belaboring upon here. First of all, it’s not that the eye cannot “see” above 24 fps, it’s that the brain cannot inherently distinguish 24 FPS from continuous motion. And actually, this happens at even lower levels than 24 FPS. What this is corresponds to the latency of the visual information processing of the brain. For most human brains, this latency is pretty large. It’s at least 1/10th of a second on average. This is why the standard for animation set by Disney is actually only 12 FPS, but it’s not uncommon for bursts of animation in TV to drop down all the way to 7 FPS (this is usually reserved for things like conversations where nobody really cares about smooth motion so much as synchronization with the dialogue). Your brain still pieces all this together as motion. So when it’s said that the “eye can’t see more than xx FPS”, that’s just bull. What it means is that “you don’t need to render more than xx FPS in order to register as motion.” The way your eye-brain connection actually works is not like a digital camera where a sensor just gets exposed to light and you get a straight up image. A better analogy … think of the way CCD cameras can have a global shutter that exposes the entire sensor at once and CMOS sensors have a rolling shutter where a few lines at a time are exposed and it “rolls” down the space of the sensor… well, your eye has a stochastic shutter. A random scattering of few pixels (approximately 1% of the sensor) at any given moment are exposed, but a tiny interval later, a different random selection of pixels are exposed, and so on, and so forth, and this is basically always going (e.g. you’re capturing video). Any given pixel, once exposed, cannot be used in another exposure until it “warms up” again, which in some cases could take as long as a full second, but there are still other pixels getting exposed while that delay occurs, so it’s not like your eyes stopped working in the gaps. Your brain collects all this together to make an image… but one thing you might notice is that your eye might take a while to get a reasonable image (which is why you have that latency in processing that causes persistence of vision). Each little random smattering of pixels is getting exposed at slightly different times, but still times that are very close together, you’re effectively still gathering information at a very fine time-slice. So even if said persistence of vision means you are thoroughly fooled into seeing still images 1/12th of a second apart as smooth movement, your brain is still gathering and piecing together visual information that was sensed in the gaps between those 1/12th second spacings. This extra information, btw, is what we perceive as motion blur. And this is why when playing an older game that did not exhibit any explicit motion blur, we can see the difference between say, 24 fps and 30 fps and 60 fps and 120 fps and so on. And even for more modern video games that do try to fake motion blur with directional convolutions, higher framerate still gets seen as smoother because the methods we have for doing motion blur are still a little artificial… honest-to-goodness high framerate is still going to give you a more believable result because your own brain will be piecing together some of that blur. Also, shuttering effects like what Zane brought up are due to your ability to focus your attention and what happens is your brain is basically filtering out part of the information it gathered. It’s actually not consistent because things can go in and out of focus if you lose your concentration, and also because the cones in the center of your eye vs. the rods in the periphery are simply used (i.e. processed differently). Nonetheless, you can do this consciously, too. This is also a stochastic process, though, so it’s not as “well-formed” and “regular” as it happens in a camera. This is akin to the “shutter angle” in film making. Most regular live action films are shot using what is called a “180-degree shutter”. This is a reference to the old days when motion picture camera shutters were cloth disks that spun to expose or cover the film. The cloth would have a cutout that was basically a certain number of degrees of arc on the disk, and the default is 180-degrees (or half the circle). What that actually means is that the film that was rolling at 24 fps was only really exposed for 1/2 of each 1/24th of a second (i.e. 1/48th sec), and not exposed for the other half. We replicate this on digital cameras by setting framerates to 24 Hz and setting shutter speed to 1/48 as a general rule of thumb. There have been some experiments lately with high framerate (e.g. 120 fps and up) cameras where we’ve found good results using 360-degree shutters (i.e. exposure is the entire time span of the frame). One of the things about that solution is that you can kind of pick and choose when you step it down to, say, 24 fps, you can say I want to sum all of the frames or I want to blend 25% or 60% and get more or less of the overall motion blur information into the frame. For film cameras, the core issue with 360 degree shutters is that you not only capture the motion blur of the scene, but you also capture the motion blur of the frame of film being moved out of the way. A 180 degree shutter allows the film to only be exposed during a period that you know the film frame is standing still (which is possible due to the “ratchet-stepping” (for lack of a better word) motion of the reel. One of the reasons why we don’t normally do 360 degree shutters even in the digital age (aside from legacy reasons and that people expect the look of film) is that the “end” of the blur from one frame is prone to extend partly into the “start” of the blur in the next, which can causes things to look a little too blurry. Though this is a very apparent problem with 24-30 fps recording, it’s not really so apparent when you get to 120 fps and up. This realization suggests that when you get much higher than 120-240 Hz (the latter being a 180-degree shutter for 120 Hz), you’re deep in the realm of diminishing returns when it comes to providing more visual information to the view. Not that there isn’t any to provide, but it doesn’t pay off so well in terms of “bang for the byte.”

When I watched this video on TV, at first I thought that this video was from some new game which was not released and has super realistic graphics!) Cool video was shot, as if it was very powerful / mesmerizing from the game!) Ets2 25 years later))

Most trucks stay away from this mountain pass in the winter, for some good reason) This is the old road, the new main road is down in the vally driving around the mounatin but it was closed for some time
@KristoBoginski6 жыл бұрын
imgur.com/a/Utnznl1 This is how the same road looks in winter, not very wise to go there with your truck. It was taken by one of our drivers who for some reason thought it would be a good idea, luckily he got through...
