Why didn't you just cut the opening back to the next stud instead of messing with that 1x2?

Less time to just cut the 1”x2” as I go out to cut my drywall piece. Had 4 jobs that day. Whatever way saves me a couple minutes then I do it 🤙🏼

I always prefer to use backing for patches. Studs in old homes can be very out of whack. If you use backing, your new board always lines up flush to the old board. Plus it's a known fact now that floating butt-joints are structurally superior to butt-joints landed on studs. Studs can expand/contract without putting extra stress on the joints

Why would you skip the tape on all sides of this patch? Who will fix it if and when there is a crack at the joint?

5:08 I put mesh tape around the whole patch 🤙🏼

Where can I buy a rack for my tubs?

I have what's called a DECKED system in this truck. I assume that's what youre talking about with the bins that move out and hold all my tools. Definitely worth the money !
