@ yes exactly! I try and buddy up with as many plumbers and electricians as I can. You can be so busy with 1-3’ patches all year. Nice to see you found a solid career.

@ everyone makes patches man! Lol. I do bigger jobs as well. But it’s nice to market yourself as a patch guy and just get to pick and choose the bigger jobs . Thanks for watching !

I’m surprised you almost color match the paint. That’s the hardest part, is to match the paint! White walls is the easiest of course, but some of those yellow walls, a few shades makes a big difference

Hey man I do a ton of high end condo patching and just wanted to say I found this very informative. Definitely going to try wet sanding between coats, and I really like that little texture pump you have. Definitely beats a hopper w/ compressor and hose for small patches. Cheers from Canada

I appreciate this comment brotha! Ive been doing this awhile and have no one to show my "tricks of the trade" so I decided to start making videos. Get the pump gun for sure if you have a lot of spray texture. When I had my company in Texas and California it was pretty much all spray and it saved me so much time and space in my truck. And way less overspray so its great for patch work 🍻

Whyyyy not put an access door in case the repair needs to be made again?
@thedrywalltech18 сағат бұрын
@@djacksonb sometimes people ask me to do that . Especially if they have had a repair multiple times in the same area. Most of the time just patch it up

Where can I buy a rack for my tubs?

I have what's called a DECKED system in this truck. I assume that's what youre talking about with the bins that move out and hold all my tools. Definitely worth the money !

Why would you skip the tape on all sides of this patch? Who will fix it if and when there is a crack at the joint?
@thedrywalltech9 күн бұрын
5:08 I put mesh tape around the whole patch 🤙🏼

because its a patch and not needed.....if the house wants to settle and crack it there isnt anything you can do anyways.....full seams top to bottom use paper tape

Damn that texture gun is $250+... not for the diy'er 😂
@1dgrdgr2 күн бұрын
Nah. That texture gun starts at $395. I wonder why he doesn't recommend the $250 one?
@thedrywalltech18 сағат бұрын
@@totallybonkers no definitely not lol. If I was doing it diy the best and cheapest would be a hopper from harbor freight if you have a compressor at home . If not then you would have to try your luck with the can texture !

Why didn't you just cut the opening back to the next stud instead of messing with that 1x2?
@thedrywalltech11 күн бұрын
Less time to just cut the 1”x2” as I go out to cut my drywall piece. Had 4 jobs that day. Whatever way saves me a couple minutes then I do it 🤙🏼
@towndrunkjr.542010 күн бұрын
I always prefer to use backing for patches. Studs in old homes can be very out of whack. If you use backing, your new board always lines up flush to the old board. Plus it's a known fact now that floating butt-joints are structurally superior to butt-joints landed on studs. Studs can expand/contract without putting extra stress on the joints
@chriscolameco6850Күн бұрын
Cutting half on half off a stud is a pain in the balls backing is faster. Cool trick with the hatchet!
