Welcome. Today we are back in Rotterdam to join this local fire fighter crew. They are called in for a building on fire. The building is five minutes away and they respond as fast as possible.
The station is located in a residential area with small streets and schools which can make it a challenge to get out quick. This time some cars and a massive truck are blocking the road.
After letting the truck pass by the crew rushes on to get to their destination.
If you’re fascinated by sirens, flashing lights, and the critical work of first responders, you’re in the right place. Our channel provides a unique perspective-literally-from the driver’s seat of police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks. We collect various videos from all over the world and add insightful context and commentary.

I learnt in a video recently that in some cities, bike and pedestrian lanes are specifically designed to facilitate emergency vehicles. Pedestrians and cyclists can also move out of the way a lot faster than cars.

@@platinaatje6134 Have you ever driven one? I have. THEY ARE HEAVY! You know, in terms of GRAVITY, G-Forces, when cornering at speed. Yes, the PAS helps to turn the STEERING WHEEL, but Gravity and Inertia are forces that don't recognise PAS. Yes, ATS makes it easy to get to speed, and ABS gets the speed back down safely, BUT IT IS HEAVY. Takes longer to get moving, and to stop, than a car. You should try driving one.

Cross through tracks to oposite way of road...
@The_Tactical_Taco
@The_Tactical_Taco Ай бұрын
@@desktoptotv8352 That is extremely dangerous in a road like this. Opposing traffic has no place to go and could be coming around any corner without knowing the fire truck is there. "Counter flow" is only used in conjunction with a police-escort that blocks all traffic inbound for that lane.

Monotonous two tone horns, needs a decent siren.
@charlesmallo
@charlesmallo Ай бұрын
It's only monotonous when you're in the truck :-). In Holland we like to keep things simple but effective. All emergency vehicles use the two tone horns (although the pitch may vary) so the public always know there's an emergency vehicle coming their way.

@@charlesmallo and yet people in other countries cope with multiple tone sirens.
@charlesmallo
@charlesmallo Ай бұрын
@@craigclaassen7346 2 tone sirens have been used here for longer than I can remember, but untill a few years ago ambulances used a 3 tone siren untill the Ministery of the Interior decided for uniform 2 tone sirens. The 2 tones also have a sound that's slightly of pitch which makes them more noticable.
@craigclaassen7346
@craigclaassen7346 Ай бұрын
@charlesmallo can't say that I thought they were very loud compared to electronic sirens. In some countries of Europe I barely even noticed the two tone horns in traffic. Plus if no one notices the horns, you have no option to try a different sound to gain attention. In Italy in particular their audible devices were woeful. After working in emergency services for 40 years using everything from air sirens, two tone horns, cheap electronic sirens, and the latest electronic dual speaker sirens that enable us to use both wail and yelp at the same time, I have to disagree that two tone horns are the best option.
