Tbh, I kinda imagined Link as an adept fist fighter, so this makes a lot of sense.

It would be cool if the punching mod was a skill item like the Earthwake Manual, a book perhaps. Since it's called the Empty-Handed Combat mod, might as well call the skill item the Empty Hand Combat Manual.

Hand-to-hand combat should've been in the base game. Maybe with a new weapon type you could find, like punching gloves or something.

Knuckle dusters on Link sounds like a Bokoblin's nightmare.

For real. I mean, fighting unarmed would be such a great asset for preserving weapon hits. Who wants to waste durability on some stupid little bokoblins, you know? Anyone who's played some Brandish will know what I'm talking about. Besides, though it's unlikely you will end up weaponless, Link needs a last-ditch fallback option just in case. The fact that he doesn't have one is a game design failing IMO

I was referring to the fact that there hasn't seen a mod which alters animations only when wearing specific clothes.

Maybe mod def could add some fist weapons that increases damage significantly to like 30 or 40 at most and even have attack speed bonuses

I thought it would be cool if the punches worked like the Demon King's bow, where the higher the maximum hearts you had the more damage you did.

These mods are better than the actual game. What a waste of 6 years to get the same game, but with Gmod physics. 3:35 the worst armour in both games lol. Sure Nintendo just throw in a huge plot hole at the end of your journey.
