This was my first time to the Nurburgring and it was a great trip.
Fun lap behind my friend Dimitri of devotec with this BMW M4 (with a passenger).
See you next year Nurburgring.

Even in a race u must passover at the braking moment or while re accélération. Notice me when he was able to do that without crash. Also they were not Alone on the ring. So, the M driver was driving fast and safe, and the gtr driver was not able to passover safely. Both did a nice vidéo for us! And u surely notice the gtr driver was happy with this lap, they had fun, and that is the cool thing of this vidéo. PS : To all the Brand fanatics, the Pilot is first, race conditions are second, the cars are only the cherry on the cake!

WOW! that was one of the best videos I have seen in ages! driving so close in wet conditions 2 of my favorite cars in my favorite track.... real life gran turismo, the GTR was very clearly superior yet so difficult to overtake on that track specially with slower cars around and the fact you dont want to crash them, hopefully I will be able to do the same one day xD

Actually not... The fastest cars on track are RWD, not 4WD. Don't forget this GTR is obviously stripped off, so it's lighter than regular GTR and also, it is 3.8 V6 versus 3.0 I6.

Any drivetrain setup can be fast... Depends on how the body of the car and its aero as well as weight and the balance of it, tyres, suspension, Power and the right driver. Nissan GTR LM Nismo for example: Car was built, i think right. Not many things on the outside but some tunnels under the body directing airflow without having to manuver around objects. 500-800HP on the front wheels only. It was fast in the straight line, always at the top of the speed boards with top teams along the back straight and quick to get to its top speed. But it was front wheel drive without the help at the rear wheels out of corners and every lap you'd be losing time waiting to get the car looking where you want to go so you can punch it

it is so sensitive on the GTR, if there is a slight missing load on any wheel, it will lightup even if the wheel was still touching the track.

This is a warm up lap. Dimitri in the M4 want to show his friend the ring. His friend is on the ring for his first time. So Dimitri don't want to push him that hard. This M4 is not slower than the GTR. You can see it on other vids.

GTR could’ve passed a lot in turns but looks like M4 was quicker at 1:27 Have to remember that these are wet conditions and both cars have lots of HP.. so lots of room for error. gtr is AWD and M4 is RWD so m4 looked like it might’ve been going a little easier to avoid spinning out.

I see so much people here without understanding of the dynamics of driving, it's insane. It's like me talking about music technology, i like music but i won't start talking about why one song is better than the other. In this case the GTR was at least as fast, as the BMW couldn't get away from it. If the Gtr was in front he may have been able to get away. You also see a lot of out of the corner moments when the Bmw can't gain one meter.

The GTR was clearly better than the M4. But it also seemed that the driver was either unfamiliar with the GTR or regretted not using his full knowledge, or when he should have taken the gas or switched early when he shouldn’t have. It wasn’t a normal revolution where it should have been, it’s not a diesel car to have to go at low revs with torque in vain, compared to the BMW V8, but it would have had no chance against Nissan, the video only points to a pilot problem. Give it to a good pilot and see what happens to the GTR that should have been destroyed here like Godzilla.

My dad has a m4 he let me drive it a gtr pulled up on us I down shifted from 3rd to 2nd then floored it we went so fast then we’ll we beat him so we pulled up to a light put it in launch control and smoked him but I love both cars so his gtr was 700 hp and our m4 is 850 hp but it’s all about having fun

The sound is less important than how it drives, I like the GTR but it takes no skill to drive it fast as the torque vectoring and esp are so good. Id rather have a car that is fun and challenging to drive.

Good to know 👍 But for me, sound is important. I hate raspiness, massive Murican V8s, and OTT pops, bangs and farts. Stock GTR maybe so, but who has a stock GTR for track driving anyway. ESP can easily be reprogrammed to your desire.

One reason I sold my M4. I thought the sound would grow on me but eeek no. Awful noise. Also couldn’t get the power down half the time and the damping wasnt good. Lovely inside though. The one in video here is obviously well sorted, just a shame the sound cannot be retuned.
