I've seen surfers take off a fair way round, as it wraps and builds coming around the island before going full slab. Hard to tell where these guys were taking off though. Haven't been to cronulla for near 15 years.

You got the Island on a good day which probably happens two or three times a year. It’s an awesome break when it’s on. Definitely the best slab in the Sydney region. So nice to see the old neighbourhood unchanged. Chilled crowd. Plenty of waves to go around. Everyone getting barrels. That’s Sydney dude. Finish up and go for a hot pie and chocolate milk.

Wow. Another intrepid take on such a sick slab going OFF! Everything is sketchy, from the water entry and exit, the shallow sucking slab and the mutant wave with random steps within the tube. How you made some of them, and gave us the pov to prove it is mindblowing. You’re officially in bodyboarding territory, but sending it so hard and paying so much respect, that your vids always have those magic Nate, goofy, psycho, loveable puppy vibes that make locals wherever you go welcome you with open arms. So stoked for the locals here. They have the sickest wave, and then they got to share it with you and Kip. Insane, as usual. How times have changed...growing up as a surfing grom in the early 80s on the KZN south coast ( between Durban and Jeffrey's Bay ) all we had back then was a Minolta Weathermatic water proof camera..and then the agonising wait for the film to get developed lol...but the utter Stoke and jubilation is still the same tho..Nice to see😂

The surf media, starting in the 60s, has exposed nearly every surf zone on earth. The net has increased exposure even moreso, to the point of overexposure. And it's just not necessary. The photos and videos are enough enjoyment.
