Immaculate mountain rock! *** E1 that is well protected. Is it 5c, though? #climbing #rockclimbing #escalada #outdoors #klettern #fun #outdoorclimbing #tradclimbing

Using cams next to those really good and worn nut placements, still good climb 🤘

Nice suggestion! I climbed that a few years ago. Not surprisingly, it's really good as well! 😊

That middle section looks really thin for feet and hands.

It is! Luckily, the rock has lots of friction!

Is Whit's End Direct not on the West face of Gimmer Crag..?

Ha! Yes it is. Bit of a mix up there. Well spotted 😀

What are the benefits of the two ropes?
@samradcliff34 ай бұрын
There are several benefits depending on circumstances. The main one on this type of route is that climbing protection might be spread across the rock face, and it helps reduce rope drag by reducing the rope zig zagging. If rapping back down it gives 60m if tying the ropes together vs 30m if on a single rope.

Also less force on the gear and harder to zipper the whole pitch. And if some marginal pro pops you only have a ton of slack introduced onto one rope so will probably not fall as far
