La Calera, Turismo Walking Tour.
La Calera es un municipio colombiano del departamento de Cundinamarca ubicado en el occidente de la Provincia del Guavio, a 16 km al nororiente de Bogotá, cerca de las localidades de Chapinero y Usaquén.
Se encuentra entre los 2600 y 3000 m s. n. m., por lo que tiene pisos térmicos frío y páramo.
En la época precolombina, el territorio del actual municipio de La Calera estuvo habitado por los muiscas.

En 1972 se encontró en la capilla colonial una campana pequeña que tiene el número 1029, lo cual ha hecho suponer que fue fundida en ese año y traída de España. Por resolución del Consejo de Monumentos Nacionales de septiembre de 1972 se propuso declarar Monumento Nacional la antigua casa de "La Calera y Sauque" y su capilla y demás construcciones del marco de la plaza.
LOS PRIMEROS POBLADORES
Los primitivos pobladores fueron los Chibchas los cuales dejaron algunos vestigios de donde debieron tener sus pequeñas viviendas; además debía ser paso forzado para llegar a la laguna de Siecha(Guasca). Se han encontrado algunas reliquias de esta cultura que han sido vendidas por quienes las hallaron, a los patrones ricos, en la Universidad Javeriana tienen varias piezas encontradas cerca de una laguna y que según estudios datan de la mas antigua cultura Chibcha.
Cerca a los limites con Guasca en la Laguna Brava se encuentran muchas tumbas donde existió un cementerio, además se dice que cerca a esta laguna existió un gran templo, en forma de espiral, pero como dicha región es poco visitada y conocida, esta reliquia histórica esta cubierta completamente de vegetación y no se tiene por lo tanto la seguridad de su ubicación, solo se sabe que un camino empedrado que parte de la laguna conduce al templo pero este también esta oculto.
