Villapinzón : Historia.
En la época precolombina no se constata ningún asentamiento de población en el territorio del actual municipio de Villapinzón, aunque su territorio hacía parte de la Confederación Muisca.
Villapinzón fue fundado por Francisco de Vargas Figueroa en 1776, con el nombre de Hatoviejo, a orillas de la quebrada La Quincha. Originalmente Hatoviejo pertenecía a la provincia de Tunja según la constitución de Tunja de 1811. En 1850 se agregó al cantón de Chocontá.
Fundado en territorio Muisca, quienes residieron en esta área y estuvieron bajo el dominio del cacique de Turmequé, quien a su vez estaba subordinado al cacique de Tunja. Según el registro de defunción en los archivos de la parroquia, Francisco de Vargas Figueroa fue el fundador de la zona.

Movilidad.
El municipio de Villapinzón se conecta desde Bogotá por la Autopista Norte y una vez en Chía se llega por la Ruta Nacional 55 junto con el Ferrocarril del Norte hasta su casco urbano y luego en Boyacá por Ventaquemada. Hay conexiones por vías secundarias a los municipios de Lenguazaque y Guachetá al oeste, Turmequé al noreste y Úmbita al este pasando por la Reserva Forestal del Río Bogotá.

Villapinzón: History.
In pre-Columbian times, no population settlement is found in the territory of the current municipality of Villapinzón, although its territory was part of the Muisca Confederation.
Villapinzón was founded by Francisco de Vargas Figueroa in 1776, with the name of Hatoviejo, on the banks of the La Quincha ravine. Hatoviejo originally belonged to the province of Tunja according to the Tunja constitution of 1811. In 1850 it was added to the canton of Chocontá.
Founded in Muisca territory, who resided in this area and were under the rule of the chief of Turmequé, who in turn was subordinate to the chief of Tunja. According to the death record in the parish archives, Francisco de Vargas Figueroa was the founder of the area.

Mobility.
The municipality of Villapinzón is connected from Bogotá by the North Highway and once in Chía it is reached by National Route 55 along with the Northern Railway to its urban center and then in Boyacá through Ventaquemada. There are connections by secondary roads to the municipalities of Lenguazaque and Guachetá to the west, Turmequé to the northeast and Úmbita to the east passing through the Bogotá River Forest Reserve.
