I really like the analogy at 43:42 between slay the spyre and wildfrost. In slay the spyre it feels like trying to build up the best combo with little care for the enemy other than as a punching bag. In wildfrost it forces you to think about enemies more as your interactions with those enemies affect how the battle is played. Both are fun and i like that wildfrost had a unique identity as a deckbuilder rather than just being a clone.

Yeah, Wildfrost reminds me of Into the Breach in that way, you're not just meant to get stronger, you're also put to the test to actually *really* carefully puzzle out your actions in the specific situations the game puts you in. On that account I also believe Wildfrost could use an "Oops, can I retry that turn?" button like Into the Breach has.

By the way, idk why it doesn't, but if you copy an overburned enemy and it dies immediately it just dies and doesnt hurt your team, I dont know if this applies to just enemy summons copied with overburn in general (ig you can only copy them with 1 hp anyways) or just overburn on your team, might be something to test out, too bad the only way to have overburn is during the frost guardian fight

The way I let the gnome survive was letting units eat damage, redrawing units right before they attack and direct sword attacks to the units behind the gnome. I’m pretty sure I almost died but it was fine.

hard and complicated aren't the same thing. The game just punishes you hard for making even one mistake, but it's not that complicated. I know its hard to believe, but "blue number explode when equal to or higher than red number" REALLY isn't that high level of a mechanic.
