Thanks for posting this. I was a mellophone in the Pride in 1996 and people who have never been a part of the greatest marching band in history. Running out of that tunnel was one of the biggest rushes I’ve ever experienced in my life. I came from a small town in Oklahoma where the school hates the band so our parents were the only ones who ever gave a crap about us. Then I came to OU and marching from Catlett to the stadium and seeing EVERYONE going nuts for us was a dream come true.

I always get too emotional seeing The Pride of Oklahoma play the OU Chant especially when its this up close and personal 🥹🥹😭 WELL DONE PRIDE!!

Man it was my dream when I was little to be in the Pride of Oklahoma marching band. That never happened but I love getting to see what it would be like. Especially from a trumpeter because that's what I play, so thank you so much for this unique perspective.

It’s amazing how you can play such high notes on the trumpet- I’m a clarinet and it’s even easier to play high notes on it… Impressive!

What is your best advice for someone who wants to be on the pride of Oklahoma

Definitely practice the music! Everything is based on your audition. The better you do, the harder part you get, so definitely practice! Once you get in, it’s super fun and all the stress goes away. So make sure you try!
