I let someone tell me they had "house drums" only one time. It was very enticing to not bring equipment however, 10 seconds into the first song i blasted a hole through the kick drum. Good times

@@televisionface Surprised there even *was* one. In my experience when a venue tells me there's a house kit what they mean is "literally a kick, rack, floor. might be some heads on it but idk". I always bring my kick/hat pedals, snare, and stands for everything.

always take all the plastic sleeves for your cymbals to! Save your cymbals from getting a key hole from shitty cymbal stands without any protection

Hey man! I don’t know if you’re going to see this but something thats been helping me with fills is taking rudiments like paradiddles, paradiddlediddles, and even simple RLK triplets around the kit and gradually making them faster and smoother!

Some observations as a drummer; - always bring breakables to every show. - invest in cases for your snare. - bring a change of clothes for after and have a dedicated pair of shoes for drumming in

Hey, just wanna say, loved this video! I feel like this was very closely inspired by drum beats online’s videos, and I love it. A lot of us are in small local bands, so it’s really cool to see the perspective of a small band that isn’t playing stadiums yet. It shows a more realistic side of things

Pretty much on point. "I have a lot of pratice and a very nicely built kit" well, you are gonna play on this house kit made of carboard boxes to really test your skills. Sometimes I miss playing music. Playing locally can be a real drag sometimes but also a dope experience, some...Times. But once you go on a tour, small or crappy whatever, that usually makes it worth it.

pro tip on forgetting to engage the snares before a song: make it look intentional. just play the part of the song through with it and engage on a feel change along the song.

As a drummer, I wouldn't worry about rudiments and fills, they aren't as important as keeping a solid groove. You guys sound great!
