I am so happy you loved it!! no yea, I agree the men killing was just kind of sprinkled throughout the chapters. I so get it! I agree! “It’s four-twenty… one” 😂😂😂 And oh no, you didn’t like the Frankenstein movie!! Are you a big classic movie watcher? It requires a bit of appreciation for the time period’s norms for how actors act and the directors choices. Devestated!!! Natural Beauty was definitely a 3 star for me. It had me gripped but I wanted more from everything… relationships, the ending, character development. Watching Rocky Horror for the first time with you and Maddy was such a delight!!! 👻🤣 I will never forget those wierd ass alien siblings 😂😂 I’m so happy we were graced with a Brooklin video. Loved all the B Library lore!!

Perfect example of the statement "I just be saying things sometimes" 🤣 I haven't watched many classics so this would be one of my first experiences watching an older movie. I have more thoughts but I am conflicted because I keep reminding myself that this movie came out 90+ years ago so of course there will be flaws. The old man was ACTING in this tho. Okay improv king 🤣 Agreed. I felt for the main character and her parents but I wish we could have gotten more of that. To be honest I might listen to it again before my loan expires just incase I missed anything It was so much fun!! I am hoping we can watch something else soon!!🎬 😁 Thank you for watching!! 😁

@@brooklinslibrary yes there’s TONS of issues to be taken with classic films. That’s the name of the game! Are you familiar with the Hayes Code? That explains a lot of the constraints and limitations of the film directors and screenwriters. It’s the root of most classic Hollywood films being sexist, homophobic and/or Christian propoganda after the Hayes Code went into effect around the late 1930s. It’s fun to see movies subvert the norms in the few movies they were able to get their scripts past the censors. For example, the sequel to Frankenstein (bride of Frankenstein) is a queer masterpiece! The movie is the brain child of a gay director and there’s one actor totally performing in drag-style as encouraged by the director, James whale. I will stop my ramblings now but hopefully you continue to explore the genre to find what works for you!

@brooklinslibrary The grudge was my first scary movie when I was like 7 and it haunted me for so long. I had to rewatch it as an adult to squash the grip it still had on me lmao. i actually really liked the original "first story". I wish it was just that😂. I was still okay with the second part, not loving it, but still holding hope. And all hope was lost at the last part.

I feel like we had opposite feelings about Nightbitch and Looking Glass Sound. But the more I hear people's opinions on it, the more I'm worried that the thing I liked about LGS was the gimmick with the word game. I remember being really frustrated with the book up until that point. Maybe I should try and reread it this year. Yesss Rocky Horror. Sword Of Damocles is my personal favourite song. Is the series by chance something to do with reading the Vampire Diaries books? I have no idea why but I have been so tempted to try and do that as a series as well even though those books are SO outside of my comfort zone/normal interests. I'm so looking forward to seeing the new vids whatever they are!

I thought that was an interesting aspect that the author added and a nice hint into what was actually happening rather than us just being straight up blind sighted by the real plot That’s a good one! “Woe is me. My life is a misery” is such a good lyric. 🤣 it really gives you insight into Rocky’s character 🙏 That’s a great guess but it’s not the series 😭 I kind of wish it was now 😂 you should read the books for sure!!
