And it makes it soooo hard when I have to do things like region, where you perform in a room with like 20 other people, or solo contest, where you play in front of a judge. Like, I practice the music for those pieces for MONTHS, and I go on a stage and my brain is like, nope.

Harmonica gives you EASY dubs. No chord dissonance, you can just improvise semi-randomly and it... just works. Don't go crazy with complex sequences just yet, keep a slow/chill rhythm and in no time everyone'll be like "wow imagine if we were around a campfire that's the ambience at a campfire". That, or "wow hey that's like in a western, youknowwhatI'msaying? like it's what they got in westerns--" Other strategy: Get a C harmonica. Christmas tunes are overwhelmingly in C and usually easy.
